That would be painful. Because like RVP he would be amazing and we would have to sit and watch that, week in week out.
Maybe I am naive, but I do think he loves Arsenal and will therefore not join another English club. If he leaves, Barca then I could see someone like PSG taking him.
Bayern would probably be a great fit for him, and with Pep, who knows. I find it hard to see how any player would want PSG other than for money. A team of mercenaries, and Zlatan... who's just weird. I think we'd have a good chance of being 1st in line though
If i remember rightly (and it was reported correctly) the deal for Fabregas included first refusal to buy him back and a 50% sell on clause. So if he leaves Barca, it is likely it would be to come back to Arsenal as a deal with anyone other than Arsenal would result in them getting less money. E.g. PSG make an offer of £40million, they will only get £20m of it while we get the other £20m so they are beter off trying to sell him to us for £21m. Add in that he clearly still loves Arsenal and Wenger and i think Arsenal is his obvious destination if/when he leaves Barca - provided the club wants him and doesnt decide the extra cash from the sell on clause is what they want... I'd welcome him back with open arms. He is a World Class player and alongside Cazorla/Wilshere/Rosicky he would give us back our passing superiority in midfield that we used to have. Signing him and a top striker would take us right back into the mix for trophies. Casillas, Fabregas, Song and Villa we have been linked to now - seems we are scouting the spanish league alot at the moment!
I think that is correct, which would put us in an amazing bargaining position if he does want to leave Barca.
Where would Cesc play in that Bayern midfield, especially after they added Goetze? The first refusal and 50% from the sell-on fee really puts into the driving seat if Barcelona is prepared to sell him. And if he really loves the club, he would never sign for the Manchester clubs or Chelsea just because they offer better wages. I think the "Big fish in a 'not so big' pond" role suited him well here.
Exactly. Bayern have Schweinsteiger, Kroos and have now added Goetze for €35 million. If Barca want to sell it puts us in the driving seat. The question is though does Wengwr feel we need another CM/AM?
Well, apparently Dortmund said that Gotze had a few offers on the table and one was from Arsenal. So that would suggest that Wenger is still in for another creative mid. I think we need one too. We've been relying on Rosicky recently, Wilshere has been injured and looks like he's short of form now, Arteta is now a deep lying midfielder and Ramsey is fast becoming a good all round centre of the park player. But in my opinion we still need a player on the same level and wavelength as Cazorla to really forge forward. With the addition of a quality striker - and given that our defence seems to have finally found some solidity, a couple of good quality additions in the summer could see us make a genuine attempt at the title next season.
Would love to see him in an Arsenal shirt again. But let's not leave it too late, if he's coming back to us then let it be sooner rather than later! This summer would do nicely!
Yes, I forgot they added Goetze. Still think of him as a Dortmund player. Watching them play Madrid didn't help with that
Barca are truly ****s, taking very good players, and just badly using them, look at how they ruined Hleb, look at how they've completely stalled Song's career, and with Fabregas, well they sure as hell haven't treated him as you'd think they would considering how much they noise they made about wanting him.
Real Madrid are even worse for this but yeah it's because they add players even when they dont really 'need' them.
Think one of the reasons he left is because he would rather live in a Spanish climate than London so that could be an issue.
Not really. Fabregas has said that he loved living in London and I can't ever recalling him moaning about the weather. He left to win things.
