Do you guys think Fabianski should stay in goal till end of season? He did a great job against Bayern but in his last game against Reading he was very lucky I think ... many times during corners and freekicks he was all over the place... Also, Kos and Mertesacker (and the team) has stepped up and seems to have reduced (slightly) the shots on target. Fabianski in goal West Brom: 6 shots on target (all over the place) Reading: 2 shots on target Swansea: 2 shots on target Bayern: 9 shots on target (great game by fabianski) Szeczny in Goal: Tottenham: 9 shots on target Villa: 3 on target Blackburn: 3 on target Sunderland: 12 shots on target What do you guys think?
He should stay for mow. He knows he has competition but as long as the Team isn't losing he should stay. The difference to the defence may be partially down to his vocal organisation.
Is it not better to be proactive than reactive? He knows the competition is there - let him step up and show he is ready to fight. Not till fabianski screws up
Fabianksi is a libaility and Scezney is having a terrible Season. Not really sure who I prefer at the moment.
Yah this doesnt help his confidence either: http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/09/wojci...e-goals-on-miserable-arsenal-return-3588709/?
He seems to be in decent form at the moment and has done nothing wrong, so I think he has earned the chance to keep his place in the first team for the rest of the season. But, for the long term, he is not the answer for me and I think we do need to invest some money on getting a new number one when the transfer window opens.
Really should have got Schwarzer a couple of seasons ago. Allegedly the deal fell through over half a million - Arsenal offered 2, Fulham wanted 2.5. He would have been a great (and very cheap) buy.
I think he did several things wrong in the last game but was rescued by the players ... if he let in one of those goals we would have had a 2-2 against west brom and probably our discussion would have been different. Having said that, dropping him for a mistake would probably have a worse effect on both keepers. As they would be afraid to make any mistakes in the future. This is why I think it would be better to change the keeper now ... except we dont have anyone to really change to. Lehmann out of retirement
Was watching Chensey in the under 21's game and his form has not improved much. His kicking is still crap, for a start. We have no other choice, but to stick with Fab.
Other than his kicking Chez didn't really do much wrong at the U21s. I'd still start Fab for now, but a couple more of those games should see Chez back to form and hopefully if Angha and Hayden don't **** up defensively again back to confidence.
****ing hell, his kicking was still off? That could really be something that just makes him fail at Arsenal eventually, top clubs want top goalkeepers, and if you have one major flaw like that, in your kicking, which is crucial for a goalie, that can be the end of you.
To be honest, I have no faith in Fabianski and am loosing my faith in Szezney also. I hope we add an experienced keeper this Summer.
It wasn't as bad as it was before (its improving and I think he'll get it soon) but it needs some fine tuning, which is why I hope we get an experienced GK because it could be something as simple as a flaw in technique that an older GK could easily help him rectify
Distribution is KEY. A fast ball out to the right player and you're immediately on the attack. Arsenal used to be built on fast counter attacks - that relies very heavily on the goalkeeper.
