Totally agree with you - but can see it from his point of view. A professional does not want to be on a bench forever....

Good luck to him, he just didnt get the breaks to prove himself at the Emirates.

Another thread suggests Gordon, now he's released from Sunderland, on a freebie...

Gotta feel a bit of sympathy for him - he's second to the same bloke in club AND country.

Whilst we need a decent back up, Fabianski was not it. Very good shot stopper, but some of his decision making was absolutely diabolical. Very inconsistent keeper and unreliable coming for crosses etc. The sort of keeper who unnerves the back four and creates mistakes, not what Arsenal need. Fabianski is Championship standard.

Totally agree with all of the above.... He has had many chances to stake his claim, if you cannot unseat Alumnia, then you have to take a good look at yourself!

Ammaar - are you serious ???? Fabianski had the odd decent game but mostly he was hapless and PISKIE described how he was absolutely spot on.

Scary keeper, nowhere near good enough. Almunia is dodgy - Flappyhandski was considerably worse !

Like Ammaar said after, that game against Partizan he was really good and was very solid. But then he done his shoulder in a warm up and was out for the rest of the season. Despite his good form back then, I still felt that he was not imposing enough to be world class and he does not have the confidence of Chensey. A bit sad to see him go but you can understand his reasons. Good luck to the fella.

<laugh> I wouldn't joke about Fabianski. I like the fella and I think he had a very professional approach at Arsenal, but he was way too unpredictable and sapped confidence from our defence. I actually wanted him to make it and prove the haters wrong and for a short while it looked like he might make it, but ultimately - he is not good enough for Arsenal.

Fabianski was dodgy in the past, but he did alright when called upon as a backup recently, but backup keepers shouldn't be too hard to come by, so I'm sure we will replace him without too much difficulty..we might even see Vito benching for us next year.

  11. OTT there Piskie. I agree he was very inconsistent for long periods, but he actually put a good run of games together before he got injured and let Szczesny in. I think he would start for many teams in the PL.

I've never been more nervous watching ANY keeper than Fabianski. Good shot stopper but completely unrealiable. Personally I'd be glad to see the back of him.

I think one of his problems was trying too hard, which lead to some unfortunate mistakes. I hope he finds first team football at a top club because there is a good goalkeeper inside him. He is still young for a keeper too, we must remember.

Not OTT at all. Whilst I agree that he put in a run of good games, it still didn't negate the fact that his decision making is diabolical and causes panic at the back. He is not what we need. To be honest I'm surprised that you're settling for mediocrity, seeing as you are so fond of accusing others of doing so.

  17. As a back up we cant have star players. Where I wont settle for mediocrity is when average players play 30+ games for us in a season.

I have to agree with Jayram on this one Flappy is none of the best 2nd choice GKs in the Prem
However Craig Gordon is on a free and we'd be fools to pass up a chance at making him #2

Fabianski's overall game simply means that he is not good enough for Arsenal, even as a no2
