Well a decent result and I finally sorted out an avatar for the first time ever and even had to do some editing so it didn't have a red background behind it. So quite productive.

Sorry PNP - see that my logo looks a lot like yours. Hope impersonating a mod is not a punishable offence.

Not sure I like it, though. Looks a lot like the French badge, which makes me think of Arsenal.

Nah, France are Spurs now. Didn't you see them in the Cup? White kits with navy trim, a cockerel on the badge and Hugo in goal. I couldn't help rooting for them.

"You don't know what you'll get with Spurs these days," says the beeb. True, strictly speaking, but the only game we've lost in the last 10 against PL sides was (arguably) due to officiating errors.

Not too many teams get players on the scoresheet who are so far down the depth chart. Capoue isn't even second choice at this point. Paulinho isn't by much, and Rose is, what, our third or fourth pick at LM?

I've got two theories about the first eight minutes tonight: either we once again confirmed that Burnley are the team that, no matter how badly they're doing, we seem destined to make a meal of every game we play against them - or Ben Alnwick was in the stands behind the goal, and that was enough to gift them a couple of goals before the stewards ejected him before he was burned in a wicker Pat Jennings at half time.

Well, what a game that turned out to be. Calamitous defending again for the first goal and a deflected free kick i thought we were going out tonight. With that line up i was struggling to see where the goals would come from.

Capoue's goal was a cracker and the build up to Danny Rose's goal was fantastic. Soldado again fluffed his lines in front of goal but you cant hide from the fact his creative play at times is excellent.

Both teams virtually put out there second string but ours is better. Leicester next, tough game but im sure we will get through, i reckon 3-1.

Big game up next against Sunderland. Walker, Fazio, Dembele, Eriksen, Chadli and Kane should all come back in.

Nice touch by Poch to give Onomah his debut like he did with young Winks.

Hopefully over the next couple of weeks we can get rid of Naughton, Lennon and Adebayor and bring in a CF and a CM.

Soldado having a comedy miss plus two assists every game is fine with me.

I couldn't find a link or a radio programme so I watched the live streaming. Now they were as guilty as Poch about opening their mouths at the wrong time. They were praising Sean Dyche saying how he'd done well at Burnley and how well he's trained their defence to soak up pressure and catch teams on the break and what an excellent coach etc etc blah blah. Then they leak three goals.

    Nice.

Soldado is such an enigma - has a hand in two of the goals, as well as the build-up to his 5-yard miss. And I notice that he was the one who picked the ball up and started running back to the half-way line when we scored the first. Things like that - his will to win, his team ethic etc all endear him to us. Everything about him is very good. Apart from the finishing, which has been woeful from day 1. And I assume that most people are like me and think - "Well he just can't be that bad a finisher. The only thing lacking in his game is something that surely must be there somewhere. He'll snap out of it soon..." But 17 months into his career with us and we're all still waiting for something to click.

Still quite a few players I'd like to see sold ahead of him.

You'd think it was just not possible to be that close to scoring so many times and just not stick them in. Perhaps if we just forget that he is a striker and just applaud his contribution as an attacking midfielder who scores the odd goal.

I wonder how many Spurs fans had to look in the mirror to see how much hair we've still got onour heads after that one?Next up.Is it Sunderland/Defoe?
