We won't be playing our first game until 8th January at the earliest. However with 2nd round ties being played this weekend, the BBC2 franchise will be presenting the 3rd round draw on Monday (7th December at 7pm). So get ready and hold your breath for .. number ..

Just noticed some good away match potential here (new grounds, not too far)...Pompey, Eastleigh, N’hampton, Wycombe, Oxford, Peterboro, Colchester? Yeovil, Newport, Exeter
Plus a load of 2nd replays - Long time since Orient.

Couple of banana skins in there GS. Wycombe in 2002 and Orient in 2006 (although that was at the Cottage). Although Yeovil in '93 has to be the absolute bummer of the lot. Blimey you've now brought back some horrible past memories and here was me thinking times are bad right now!

And I guess young Jordan Evans will be hoping it's not Oxford. He made his debut yesterday, coming off the bench for them in the 2nd round win over Forest Green.

For entirely personal reasons (walking to the match) I'm hoping for Bournemouth away. To be honest, absolutely anybody is a banana skin for us at the moment.

I think we need to focus on not being a complete and utter shambles off the pitch.

Scoobie Doo time ... Sheffield Wednesday away. Gray should be happy at least.

The last time the two met, in 2009, Fulham won at Hillsborough thanks to an Andy Johnson double. Wednesday have taken the honours on the two occasions they met prior to that, 1985 and 1973, and the only other time the two have met in the Cup, in 1951, it went Fulham's way. So it's a proper tie to date with two wins apiece. Not that history makes a jot of difference of course, just thought I'd do a John Motsom bit.

This season as you'll recall, we lost 3 - 2 at Hillsborough with the shade of a fight back late on. As happens often with the Cup we play them the week before the tie at the Cottage (2nd January). All in on all, not the kindest draw.

Now that TV has decided which matches to show - yes, ManU top the bill and the minnows don't feature - the date of our match away to Sheffield Wednesday is confirmed as Saturday 9th January, kick off 3pm.
