Officials' judgement leaves manager with a sense of déjà vu.

Steve Cotterill was once again left lamenting refereeing decisions that went against his side after City slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers.
The turning point in the game was the red card issued to Nathan Baker four minutes into the second half – a decision the manager did not dispute.
But Cotterill was left far more aggrieved by the non-award of a penalty on Kieran Agard in the first period, before Blackburn put the game to bed with a late spot-kick of their own.

“We didn’t get a blatant penalty on Kieran Agard and Flinty (Aden Flint) didn’t touch him for their penalty,” the boss told
    Bristol City Player HD.
“What can you do? We’ve had some dreadful refereeing performances game after game, and I was disappointed with how their players surrounded the referee to get Nathan Baker sent off.

“Nathan has got to think better when he’s out there under that pressure, but by then we should have had a penalty.
“It’s not all our fault, but the sending-off is. I’m learning about these players all the time.
“I felt with 11 men we were the better team, without a shadow of a doubt. I think we would’ve gone on to win the game.
“I thought the players showed tremendous courage and character to come home after a 3-0 away defeat and play as they did in the first half.
“They needed a little bit more belief and a little bit of luck to go their way – that certainly isn’t happening at this moment in time.
“We’ll just have to carry on working and encouraging them, because there’s still nothing wrong with the spirit we’ve got.”

And I would say cotts was right about everything he said, except one...it was a penalty for them in my mind.

I watched the interview on BCFC Player and was disappointed at his excuses but even more telling was his body language which almost tells me he has almost reached his limits of endurance - honestly sad to see. It reminds of my comments when I saw the first Steve Coppell interview after he joined us and I told myself that he wasn't going to stick around for lone, and hey presto.

You can tell a lot from body language and what I saw was a defeated man who is surely wondering what happens next. Almost like a lost soul without a lifeline and not expecting any help from above. So sad.

Have to agree....listened to the post match interview on BBC radio Briz, and he sounded so down and out. Almost as though he had no answers to give. Was this anger, frustration, a bit of each?...the guy just sounded a beaten man on the verge of chucking it in.

I tend to agree with that assessment Caldicot and he sort of looked like someone who has nowhere to turn and has no idea where he goes from here. The next few weeks are critical in our attempt to move up the table, and talking about getting some action done to try and rectify our issues seems to have vanished from the radar. To see this happening to my lifelong football club, and yet another manager, breaks my heart and it makes me wonder whether there's anyone left at Ashton Gate who gives a rat's arse. The lack of information is sickening and I'm starting to feel like a mushroom - you know the rest.

I was sat right behind this and definitely no contact was made at all. if he gave it for anything the only thing could have been intent?

    I though he dived...

If your team has played crap what do you expect the manager to say?. If he named names people would accuse him of not being motivational. In the absence of the truth he can only tell lies or make excuses. They can be packaged in many ways. I personally take little notice of what the manager says after matches. The performance itself guides my opinion. After match interviews are demanded by the press so we aint going to get rid of them soon. What is needed are more fans forums. Having said that I went to one with SOD and he was terrible.
