We all knew their would be contreversy and talking points and of course, their was. Their is much tension building up to the game and it seems to spill over postgame. It doesn't matter how either team scored people will find something to moan about and completely overlook the game. But let's actually look at the game. Both teams weren't at their best, Liverpool had more of the possesion without creating chances until the game opened up towards the end. United looked disjointed at times and really seemed to miss that creative flair and setup very defencive with Phil Jones man marking Adam. It does feel like a defeat at the moment with Da Gea showing why he was bought towards the end, but in truth it's not a bad point for both teams. When we took the lead we seemed to sit back and invite pressure, United bought Nani and Rooney and were obviously much more dangerous and in typical United fashion they took their chance. Overall it was an exciting game between 2 great teams and let's not forget that. Credit to United for coming back to earn draw. On a final note I'm getting increasingly worried about our finishing, it's costing us points
I feel 2-1 would have reflected the game better but then I guess a draw is a fair reflection of the fact we can't finish for ****. Still, I'm impressed with the way we played today in general, United have been prolific this season and we got a draw today by attacking, not sitting back or anything, which is something we should be pleased with. I would be furious though if united had managed to nick a goal in the last min...
Thanks Liverpool were more likely to win the game than Utd, but ultimately have no one but themselves to blame for missing all the chances they did, so I agree that the draw was fair.
Rabble rabble rabble. It was fair. Just remember this KPR, without that Adams dive you were not scoring today.
You mean the dive where Ferdinand fouled him, and should have got his second yellow and been sent off? Is that the one?
I felt that we played well but didn't take our chances. United weren't at their best today but we couldn't take advantage of this and collect the three points. Before the game, I think both sets of fans would have taken a point and we've got a point.
I reckon a fair few Liverpool fans would have expected the three points after seeing the respective starting line ups tho! Btw, the thread title is slightly inaccurate. It should say "Exciting second half, boring as **** first half, fair result"
The one where Adam dived, then felt rather pleased with his cheating. His first of 2 dives. Adam should of seen red.
How come Manchester United played there second string team against you lot today, I was a bit worried about us losing 4th place today but overall Im well happy with you drawing 1-1. Watched the game you missed chances, Adam dived and Little Pea done Skertel like a Turtle. Come on the Geordies hope we win against the spuds tomorrow.
Perhaps because Ferguson knew that if he played an open game his side were going to be gutted like a fish. United's midfield is woeful when it is pressed. We certainly did miss chances and its an issue that Kenny has to address quickly. Hope you do win tomorrow
Dave. Excellent comment. Any team that plays with FOUR Centrebacks is playing for a point. Rafa Benitez used to get murdered for playing Fabio Aurelio wide left or in midfield. , he was accused of being defensive. Ferguson plays a centre-back in midfield and not a word is said. Pure hypocisy, the fact is United played a team away above the standard of Bolton and settled for a point before kick-off. As for a second-string team, Vidic apart, you had a full squad to pick from. Don't for one minute suggest that Ferguson purposely played a reserve side. He set it up like that, because as Dave said, Liverpool would have tore their woeful midfield to shreds.
