Delighted that Poyet has won managerial achievement award. It's well deserved as he is not only an excellent manager but a very self-effacing bloke who is quick to give credit to the opposition.

This special edition of Spot The Fib is bought to you courtesy of a Monday morning hangover!

I think the award also went to him for his excellent stand on racism, especially regarding his fellow countryman Mr "how is that racist?" Suarez.

This was voted for by other managers. Not popular with other managers for being top so long when we obviously don't deserve it! Don't think Adkins was even nominated.

You have to understand that not many people like Southampton FC. They never have, they never will.

See on Sky that Poyet has said he could be interested in Chelsea or Spurs jobs. Not the best thing to put in an acceptance speech. At least Nige would keep those thoughts to himself. Ricky gave a good acceptance speech, being very pleased with being on edge of the PL where he said he never thought he would play. Said it was probably 2 from 3 for promotion and that the team would give their best for rest of season.

P.s. Ricky...never have your hair cut just before going on tv.

That says a lot about the type of bloke he is. I'd be p**sed if I was a Brighton fan, that's for sure. He's such a tw@ it defies belief sometimes.

How deluded is he? - he has no chance with the top 2 jobs in Britain up for grabs

It was a trifle severe, wasn't it..? He looked like an eraser pencil that had rubbed out something dark on the end.

I think Poyet is using Brighton as a stepping stone to up his profile, unlike our Nige who seems genuinely invested in the club. Although Brighton are doing well mind you, imagine if they won the play offs...could Gus' head get any bigger!?

Irritating and nasty man. Something about him really pees me off.

Interesting, isn't it, that if he were a slightly less obnoxious character we'd probably be saying that he genuinely does deserve the award. His achievements at Brighton are remarkable. They ran away with the league last year(we only closed on them once they'd won it); they are more than holding their own in the championship; they had a great Cup result against a good Newcastle side ... Well done, Mr Poyet. Just why does he have to be so obnoxious? Freud would want to see his tackle, if you get my drift ..

My little lad met him the other day and he was a really nice bloke. Took time out to talk to all the kids, and was friendly. My lad asked him if he would like to manage Saints one day and he said "no, you have a great Manager already", another lad said "what about Chelsea" and he replied "yes, tomorrow". All the kids thought he was great, so away from football he seems a nice bloke.

Nice story, Ducky. Maybe the guy just needs to loosen up a bit. Like I say, he is clearly a good manager but if he could learn to sometimes say "we was beaten by a better team today" he could be almost as good as Nigel!
