Phase one of the snake is to go back on ones word & be disingenuous. Its phase two I fear. When they come a knocking.
Just remember you wrote that when we're trying to tempt the next Sadio Mane and he won't come over because he's never heard of the manager. I'm afraid we've reached the status where we've bypassed all the English, Scottish, Welsh [and that mug from NI up in Glasgow] managers and now require someone of proper status. No more up and comers. AVB is probably the level we're at, but no lower.
Yeah I agree (posted similar earlier). He'd not be my choice (despite the fact he's likely a good manager), and I also wouldn't want to do that to Bournemouth.
Well I know that this is not going to down well, but I have to say that if Saintsweb offered me £7m to mod their board, I would be sorely tempted. After all, it's almost double what I get paid on here.
Yeah, same here. I know Howe is a good manager. He's great for Bournemouth. I'm happy for it to stay that way.
De Boer worries me. He's been pimping himself around too much, I want us to make an informed decision & not be swayed, he does too much washing in public for my liking.
I'm unsure about De Boer and not even sure why. It seems like an easy, almost lazy choice to me that seems very unlike our boards way of doing things . Unless we've been following him for years of course in which case I take this back
I have no doubts they will have been looking at him - he is a huge name, and has done a fantastic job at Ajax. He was linked when we signed Ron wasn't he?
I'm not sure about Howe at this point in time, just because I get this feeling that he can do what he does at Bournemouth, but will fail to recreate it somewhere else - he has a unique bond with Bournemouth, and a unique relationship with their fans and players...those traits don't tend to travel well.
Free agent that's managed two prem clubs before and would be attractive & realistic for us. Not really weird - I'd take him in a heartbeat
We have to be careful with our next appointment, it's more important to get a good coach that is "on message" with the five year plan than a big name manager that might be off after a couple of years if we continue to be successful. I think that Eddie Howe would be a great appointment, his teams play attacking, pretty football and he is obviouslly a good coach with man management skills.
AVB has been name checked a few times. I'd take him in a heartbeat. Best of the realistic names, I think.
