For every Man City there is a QPR as mentioned.
Main difference Man City and Chelsea has is it seems like their finances were effectively unlimited (in Chelsea's case more in the context of the time).

That was not true of QPR, Leeds, Portsmouth etc. And it is not true of the new Everton owners

Yep - even with sales of Lukaku & Stones they'll end up very close to the FFP limit. I'm not sure how sustainable that is. We managed player sales for only two seasons before putting our foot down. They'll have to do the same very quickly because there's more pressure & no black box to help them

Nope. Tadic didn't like how Ron managed.

I would have thought they have some kind of scouting system similar to the black box. I am not sure we have a unique arrangement. Perhaps it is as good. I can't remember who their recent signings have been to judge

Do FFP limits even mean anything anymore?

Could work out in our favour - Getting Tadic to sign a new deal.

We do. We have been scouting Gary Rowett for a while now.

As for FFP. I know it has been relaxed again, but don't know by how much.

To a certain extent there is simple logic in why we have progressed. We have got inflated prices for selling our players as they are considered "proven". Whereas the replacements have in fact been better and cheaper. It's largely down to our brilliant scouting network.

I take back my comments on their black box equivalent.
Most of their signings of the past three seasons have either been :

    - "Names" from bigger clubs (Eto'o, Barry, Cleverly, Lennon)
    - Ex Wigan players (Robles, Alcaraz, McCarthy, Kone)

Outside of that bracket you pretty much have:

    - Disasters - Niasse
    - Debatable/Arguably overpriced (Funes-Mori - especially when compared to VVD)
    - Outlier - Deulofeu

So it seems like there isn't really anything like a black box up there...

Is the "we do" saying our arrangement is somewhat unique? Due to scouting managers etc.

I would assume Rowett is one for the longer term as I cannot imagine he would be ready for the job now

I haven't a clue about other clubs, but would have thought so. I just know we send scouts out to watch managers.

If Deulofeu was consistent he'd be immense, his delivery is on point everytime from the games I've watched. Just only does it when he feels like it.

Oh it would be greatly appreciated if the board could ensure that it is written into the new man's contract that Tadic will only ever be played on the left.

Even if they had a black box type set-up, they're not in Europe - a lot of players want European football to help them on to the actual big leagues. So despite the money they have a recruitment ceiling. Just like us in L1/championship - we weren't buying established Premier league players; Everton are kidding themselves if they think they'll recruit Europa/CL class until they actually get there - but some of their fans seem to think otherwise.

If Deulofeu was consistent Barca would buy him back.

I am not sure I have seen any indication that they think that. Aside from all the players they think will suddenly jump from us to them (VVD and Forster mainly)

Lots of idiots on Twitter saying how they'll be in CL next season due to the money they have certainly implies it, fewer stating it outright, but lots going on about splashing the cash. Splashing cash only works on players that are worth it. How many of their targets will be worth £15-20mn+? That's what you pay for proven European talent - unless you're Liverpool. Maybe there's something in the water up in Scouse land that makes them over-pay...

There's the subject of your next blog. What happens to Club fans when one of their favourites transfers to a rival club with the alacrity of a snail. And there is no/conflicting news while it happens. ;)
