Oh no, why aren't I making a thread about Enrique's inpending departure or what lineup we should play on Saturday? Why aren't I doing that?! Why? Shoot me.

Anyway, am I the only that gets really wound up by broadcasters' insistent use of ex-footballers as pundits. Why do Sky, BBC and ITV always think these people know their stuff better than anyone else?!

If they're not spouting an inane amount of cliches, they're brown-nosing anything even slightly related to Liverpool or Man United, inflicting us with pointless drivel, virtually commentating on the highlights (no offence, Big Al, but you are a terrible pundit) or just being a complete and utter **** (hi, Lawro and Souness).

They have NO out of the ordinary opinions; it's just predictable, 'no **** Sherlock' drivvle.

Can't wait to get really angry at my tele over the coming months

p.s. this doesn't apply to Clarence Seedorf - a bad word should never be uttered about that man.

by da way, what formationz does you wanna play on saturday? i rekon 442 but 433 is also good. also 451 is good. also we need da english core of playerz! ashley oot! HTL

You have to be a bitter Scottish alkie who's been on the books of either Liverpool, Man United or Arsenal to get a job as a pundit it's the golden rule that Sky and others live by

    Dammit!

I only fail on one of those requirements!

**** you Liverpoo, Mancshitster and Arsehole! I'd have made a great pundit. I'd have been the best you bastards.

I'm off to get ****ed out of me brain on IrnBru and Petrol.

As a regional twist, we like to add some oil stained gravel to it.

See i find Wilkins and Redknapp are the only one's i can listen to. Wilkins know's his stuff and to be fair to Redknapp he always gives an unbiased view on matches, praises us a lot!

To be fair they played the game at the top level so have more experience as to what actually goes on in football that Joe Public, thought I must say Andy Gray and (gasp) Shearer are useless <ok>

I think Wilkins talks utter twaddle. he just states the obvious when he's not just getting it totally wrong. i like redknapp though because he calls it like he see's it, no bias.

As was once pointed out on here, all the ex players with a bit of tactical nous and charisma go into coaching or management. Sky get the rest who just want another pay packet.

having been able to kick a ball well at some point in the past is of no use when you're paid to talk.

I think Pat Nevin is quite a decent pundit on Five Live.
