Monk is Mourinho's closest rival for Manager of the year award........... http://www.comeonyouswans.com/news/...t-rival-for-manager-award-says-pearce_2015_05 Would you like to see him win manager of the year? I think we would but realistically, I doubt he will. The manager of the year should go to the Prem League winners so, imo, it wont be coming to our beautiful club. However, for Monk simply to be considered at all is astonishing and an endorsement for Monks, and subsequently The Swans, achievements this season. Winning it may be a pipe dream, but the accolades he's getting from all quarters shows high regard, appreciation and respect ordinary people, Jacks, football peers, football pundits, football fans or any one who rubs two cells together and calls it a brain, has for our young, talented, ambitious manager. Every man, woman and dog is applauding the magnificent, record breaking season he has given to the Swans this year. I am proud of him, proud of my club, proud of what we've achieved and proud of how we achieved it. Garry Monk has done us all proud, long may he reign.
Whole heartedly agree with your post Stumpy, Monk has had a very good season, his first, and from a Rookie? I'm well pleased for him and the club, and we should be able to have some much needed managerial continuity for a few seasons with Monk at the helm..................
Manager of the year has nothing to do with winning the premiership at all, It's about what and how managers have achieved during the season. The saints manager should win followed by the swans manager or vice versa.....They both have worked wonders and have excelled far better than what was predicted before the season, so that is what i call the distinction of manager of the season and not winning the premiership that was predicted. There is no doubt about it this season that the saints and swans are in the frame and you can make a case for both managers and i would not complain whoever wins the accolade of manager of the season as they both deserve it on merit....
What suprises me is the plaudits Nigel Pearson and Sean Dysche are getting. Sure Pearson has done great to keep the Foxes up, but pundits keep saying, he's done so well after a record-breaking 140 days at the bottom of the league. Well, is that a great record??!!! Still, I wouldn't say it to his face!! Dysche hasn't been so lucky in keeping his team up and with his resources, it has come as a surprise to no-one. Seems like a decent enough manager and I hope he keeps his job but for theses pair to be picked over MOnk for manager of the year by many, defies belief!
Pearson has been poor also dysche has not been very good so they should not be anywhere near picking up best manager. Its an insult to those who have had a good season tbh
