He seems to be really fulfilling his potential. Judging by peoples ratings on the MOM threads, he always seems to be up there. Anyone else agree, or am i just in play off spot delusion?

I nearly made the same thread myself. Has been top draw recently and I think we really missed him against Burnley. Long may it continue!

I've always liked him, i sometimes feel the work his does sometimes goes missed as it mainly off the ball but glad he is getting the recognition he deserves this season!

He's benn quality this season. Miles better than Oli.

McKenna is decent enough sub for Evens.

Oli is just a massive pansy.

The last time I watched City play was at Birmingham and Oli was shocking. Although I'm yet to see him play this season, Evans seems to be impressing at present and it's good to see him showing his potential.

Evans seemed to be on everything v Watford. He's come of age, he's now fulfilling his potential.

If you can get in the Man Utd first team, you can't be that bad.

I said last season that Cory Evans has the potential to be every bit as valuable to us as James Chester.

For the same reason we should seek to buy Robbie Brady as well.

These boys are not the finished article. They have the potential to be incredibly valuable to us either in terms of money or (preferably!) in terms of our squad development looking forward to our return to the Premiership.

I've rated Evans and Brady all along even when everyone was on their backs last season. Evans is a very tidy little player and has that nack of making everything he does look easy, Brady is just clearly a fantastic talent and just needs nurturing and experience before he becomes a big hit. I feel the same of Stewart and Cairney, sadly Stewarts injury seems to have finished him psychologically at present, mind set can change though and he's still just as fast and skilful so can still become the great player he looked he could be. Cairney has huge talent on the ball and just needs to be utilised in a system and role that suits his strengths and doesn't highlight his weaknesses, this 3-5-2 could well be it. We also have to see if he can come back strong from his injury.

Not gonna pretend I've always been a big Evans fan but I agree with Bob on the other players he's mentioned.

Sounds like Evans was awesome defensively yesterday which is great. Thing is he's always been quite good at that. My criticism of him is always his use of the ball. Some of his passes are just incredibly poor. I didn't go yesterday so I'm just glad to hear he played well and the shot that led to the goal looked pretty good. But I think he definitely needs to work on the possession side of his game and he'll know it. If he can do that, and if in the next few years he can learn to move the ball even half as well as Cairney can, he'll be a great player.

Had flashbacks here to what a lot of City fans said about Ashbee originally, he used to get loads of stick for his use of the ball but it did improve massively throughout his career even into his thirties. He's there as the breaker and if the other side of his game improves its a bonus but we don't need to put him under pressure to become a playmaker just yet

He doesn't have to be a playmaker but he needs to be able to keep the ball. That's something Ashbee got very good at, he knew when to play the simple pass. It's something I like about McKenna as well, he rarely wastes possession because he knows his limits. Evans is kind of somewhere in between, he isn't good enough on the ball to be a playmaker but still tries to play like one sometimes. Bruce will be coaching him the right habits every day I'm sure. For all I know his passing might have been perfect yesterday.
