Well, what can I say? To be precise many of us have praised Sir Alex Ferguson on several occasions. Once again, Sir Alex Ferguson showed his mastery of continental competition as we outclassed FC Schalke 04 without a doubt.

It should have been more - much more. If it was not for the heroics of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, we would have run up a cricket score.

Based on this evidence, Sir Alex Ferguson could send out a bunch of youth-team players for the second leg at Old Trafford and still be guaranteed to cruise into the final.

By the way, I am sure it was supposed to be the season in which the so-called 'noisy neighbours' finally rose up. I'm still wondering if they will even make it to the last 16 of the CL next season.

Shhhh! your going to jinx your team... Quietly confident would be better and you would look less of a plank if they make a comeback 0-2 at OT Shalke win on pens would be unbeleiveble but possible.

Last night's performance was excellent. I expected alot more from Schalke, I'm not sure if nerves got to them but they were awful. I don't think anybody expected anything from them vs Inter so they were able to play without pressure, and I think the Italians underestimated them. But against United there was more pressure, they were expected to produce another big performance - plus United were much better prepared for them. But the way we played I think we'd have beaten most sides to be fair.

Let's just hope that Schalke don't suddenly get it together in the 2nd leg and cause a shock.

Mourinho is a master according to many others out there. I'm currently in this long and confusing process of figuring out whether this thread has anything to do with Mourinho. <whistle>

Given the quality of their defence last night, I can't see them keeping a clean sheet at OT!

The only worry for me is that players like Raul, Edu and Farfan have shown how ruthlessly they can punish defensive lapses. I'm just hoping our defenders keep their concentration right the way through the match, else they could easily bang a few goals in and we'd be at risk of going out on away goals in a similar way to last year.

That's my fault. Since I told Ginge I rate SAF and Mourinho about the same, he's on a quest to prove Mourinho is better...

Oh, I see. I am sure there is professional help out there for those currently suffering over the thought of getting over Mourinho.

I'm glad you've owned up to it. We'll have to wait and see whether he actually does get over Mourinho. I don't blame him being on quest seeing as Wenger was given a "recent" award which SAF deserved.

I have never heard as much rubbish as there is on this article.Ferguson is NOT a European master, and never will be.The proof of this is his 18 failed attempts in Europe. There is far better.Bob Paisley 3 European Cups in 9 seasons.Ferguson is hitting 25 years and has 2.Brian Clough won 2 in 2 seasons.Jose Mourinho has won 2 in 10 years.Domestically Ferguson has been the best in the last 20 years. But he's nowhere near the best when it comes to Europe.

We'll see how brilliant he is when Barcelona take United apart at Wembley,It will be the funniest comedy since Only fools and horses.
Carrick and Anderson are the biggest pair of tits to appear on televison since Samantha Fox first went topless.

The majority of them are decent posters. But, one in particular tends to stick his nose in.

Not really Swarbs your view is quite inconsequential really, I stated my opinion that's all! Its impossible to change someones mind when they are so blinded they don't wish to see.

Hizmo, You made a statement which I added as Maureen has won the same amount of European trophies as bacon face then he must surly be as good. In fact as he has done it with two different teams it could be argued that he is slightly better.
