    Hull City playing in Europe.

I'll repeat that. Hull City playing in Europe.

I don't care about the consequences, I don't care which godforsaken ****-hole in Eastern Europe we end up in, Hull city playing in a European competition is ****ing amazing.

I've been waiting almost forty years to watch us play a team I've never heard of.

I share your sentiments Lammie, I really do.

But surely you remember our last European adventure?

    The 1973 Anglo-Italian cup.

Beat both Lazio and Verona 2-1. Drew 0-0 with Bari. Lost to Fiorentina.

Still managed to finish bottom of our group due to the most ridiculous system ever conceived.

In a mini league against teams that we never even played.

I've been waiting 41 years for a chance of European revenge.

    Nothing's gonna stop us now.

    How about:

FL Fart, a Norwegian football club located in Vang. Also called Fotballaget Fart.

ZTE, Zalaegerszegi Torna Egylet, a Hungarian football team based in the city of Zalaegerszeg.

Jaworznickie Stowarzyszenie Piłkarskie Szczakowianka, also known as Garbarnia Szczakowianka Jaworzno, a Polish soccer team currently playing in the IV Liga.

NAC Breda, a Dutch side, full name is: Nooit opgeven altijd doorgaan, Aangenaam door vermaak en nuttig door ontspanning, Combinatie Breda.

If we draw Dukla Prague I'll be able to wear my away kit.

I got it for Christmas, it's all I ever wanted.

Just 'cos your Uncle owned a sports shop.

    There's no need to boast.

You're talking like that bloke who used to hand me my Giro every two weeks.

If we end up in Norway playing FC Fart, my life will be truly complete.

As long as we get a team in either Scandinavia, Netherlands or Belgium, i'll be very happy.

Am I reading you right CG.

You wanna contact ex-deputy chief constable of Greater Manchester Police, John Stalker, just 'cos I guessed that you come from a family of sports equipment salesmen?

He is 75 and long since retired you know.

I'll be honest. I couldn't remember. Although it was on the tip of my tongue, so to speak.

    I googled it.

    It's Drummer, isn't it?

Finnish side Honka has already qualified for next season's EL. Losing to them would be sickening.

    It was indeed Drummer.

At least that was the name of the dog in the advert Stalko did for those sun blinds, for all I know it might have been a dog actor called Drummer with no connection or affiliation with the John.

    We'll probably never know.

It does feel all rather surreal OLM playing in Europe instead of just playing a European team, like in a friendly match of years past. But along with Siemens, City Of Culture and now this maybe that t-shirt I use to see people wearing 'It's Never Dull In Hull' may have more of a meaning then ever before.

It might be quite nice playing them over two legs just so our fixture list goes "Honka Honka"
