Perhaps a little bit early to post this thread, but anyone going?

Only been to one eastern block country and it was a **** hole, horrible buildings, no architecture, no apparent history to be proud of, all the blokes looked like mafia and tried scamming you. Oh and the food was ****e!

    So personally won't be going!

I have been to a number of Eastern block countries even before the changes. Went back to the old East part of Germany a few months ago, and it was unrecognisable to the old communist times. Ukraine may well be the same, but unfortunaely I won't be going to find out.

Went to Poland about 3 years ago on a sixth form visit to Auchswitz. A very humbling trip, but found Poland to be a nice country and with pleasent people, not the dull backward stereotype of the old eastern block.
