When you see the statistics on the amount of goals scored in the Euro 2012 championship from headers, you have to wonder if Grant Holt could have made a big difference to England. Especially some of the chances that were missed, one in particular a header from Rooney that Holt would have burst the net with. Also, I don't think any of the other teams would have liked to try to defend against Holt he can be a right nuisance. Apart from the one goal that Carroll scored I thought his performances were disappointing and just as I expected before the tournament. Holt would have been more effective!

There isn't a ground, a game, an occasion, a tournament, a league, a country or a state of mind that Grant Holt couldn't get a goal in.

    Not taking him was suicide

He'd have scored those penalties too.

Strange how things work out but my feeling is that had he have gone to the Euros, another club would have come in and taken him from us as I think he would have done well on that stage.

i think that with the benefit of hindsight, i'm quite glad he didn't go. not because he didn't deserve to, because he certainly did, but because england produced so few chances that he'd have been starved of the ball and would have stood very little chance of being a success. i suspect he'd now be getting the blame for england's failure.
