    After being taken over earlier on this year by Russian Millionaires- we have been buying top quality players- so yes- the question is; are we too good for him ??

    We made our first cash signing in almost 2 years this summer- a £750,000 purchase of Jason Pearce, the former Bournemouth Captain.

    Well Done for keeping out Arsenal and good luck for the rest of the Season !! <ok>

    General opinion from the press in Norway is yes, he is too good for us. But hey, we're not complaining!

    He's often played on the wing, hence the lack of goals, but he can play up front too <ok>

    Well, he has a reputation as a flair player so if we can get him then it could be a fantastic signing because we lack flair going forward at the moment - even if he just does as Diarra did and uses us as a stepping stone to better things and isn't here that long.

    Ah, thats good to hear. Good luck this year then - what are Pompey aiming for? Mid-table, Play offs?

    Safety to be honest <ok> Currently we only have 18 players and a very defensive minded squad. We're working on getting new players in (like Huseklepp) so hopefully we'll start getting results soon. Aim for most Pompey fans is just to stay up this season, then have a go at play-offs next season.
