I've met a few agents in the past and they say it's the 'super agents' that have sullied the name of the profession. Now too many agents deem themselves as such or try to give airs and graces that they belong to this clique so that top players agree to be represented by them.

They can actually hold the players and clubs to ransom.

Most are out for the best offer with a long term contract where the player will actually get games. They were working for a lot of the young players in League 1 and 2 who had been dropped by the larger academies and were in Belgium trying to find them clubs.
