don't be too harsh on the guy. he's got a young family and he's been excited about spending time with them having said that, does anybody actually enjoy pre-season? i know i used to hate it!
Fair enough, he's entitled to think what he likes, but don't go public with those thoughts when 12,617 people follow your every syllable on a social media site
that's why i said 'don't be too harsh'! he's a muppet for broadcasting it in the manner he has, even though it was tongue in cheek about pre-season training. he's a very funny lad - quips don't always come across well on twitter though! typically, people will take it as serious instead of seeing the funny side
Don't particularly care what he says as long as it's not derogatory to the club. More concerned with what he does football wise.
Here's his response to however many irate replies he's had: No attempt to justify his use of the word "devastated" which is the part I find personally disappointing.

I really don't see what the problem is. It's well documented that footballers don't like pre-season. This should therefore not come as a surprise?

He's paid a lot of money for what he does - more per week than some people get in six months. Some fans have to make serious choices, do I renew my season ticket or do I go abroad on holiday for two weeks. For those type of people, I was just pointing out that his choice of words can be seen and taken as a kick in the teeth, i.e. "I so don't want to be here doing this." Totally insensitive, I'd call it and I stand by that. Sorry to all of you that disagree with me.

If you´re going to get worked up, at least wait until there´s something really worth getting worked up about, he´s only having a bit of an innocent moan, for heaven´s sake. It just happened to be him that said what all the rest are thinking.
