    From the Ronnie;

EYES down for a full house.

They may be worth millions but these Toon players were still hoping to hit the bingo jackpot.

Jose Enrique and teammate Fabricio Coloccini called in for a game at the Cramlington Village Social Club, where the Ladies Darts Team raised £2,400 in the name of former player Dot Severn, who died of cancer last May.

The team took part in an epic charity challenge, playing for ten hours straight to raise the cash, which will be split between the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Macmillan cancer nurses.

And in recognition of their achievement, Toon aces Enrique and Coloccini visited the club to hand over the cheque - and couldn’t resist sticking around for a few games of their own.

Lorraine Weatherson, of Cramlington, who helped organise the event, said: “Dot is sadly missed by everyone at the club.

“We’ve all worked together to organise the fundraising.

“The players came to present the cheque and stayed for five games. They really enjoyed it.

“Jose’s partner Eva was waiting for one number.

“Jose is a bit of a joker and he was telling Coloccini in Spanish what numbers were being called but he was saying the wrong ones.

    “Luckily Coloccini didn’t shout.

“People at the club think it’s fantastic that they had a game of bingo.”

Dot was a member of the darts group for many years and became a key player before her diagnosis.

Before her death Dot, 64, also of Cramlington, helped others in similar charity fundraising.

The players handed over the cheque to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and cancer charity Macmillan, signed autographs for fans and met Dot’s family, including daughter Sue Bower and grandson Paul Bower.

Paul, 27, said: “Everybody in this club was my nana’s friend so for them to come together to raise this money is fantastic.

“My nana would have loved seeing the players in the club like this, especially Jose Enrique as she used to fancy the pants off him.”

Bobby Robson Foundation head of fundraising, Pauline Buglass, said: “We’re extremely pleased with this support.”

Always nice when you see things like this happening Fair play to them <ok>

*Jose's lass also looks quite decent but it's not letting me upload the photo.

    Haha thats epic.
I always like to see the players being envolved in the local community in any kind of way but this one seems especially nice for some reason

Very nice of them to pop along and I bet they each made a great donation for very worthy causes.

A couple of great guys and a great post. I hadn't heard about that!

I wonder if they'd have quit playing football if they'd won the Jackpot?

This gives me a thin additional slither of hope that Enrique might stay. I doubt he would represent the club at events like this if he knew he was on his way out. It's also a nice reminder that he does have some close friends here like Jonas and Colo.

I might cry for the first time since I got lost from my mam in Tesco last year if he does actually go.

At least if you're holding it tight she can't whack you on the behind for not looking where you're going.
