I have decided i hate this board and most people on it. You are all very doubting of anyone who is new to the board. Anyone who has a slightly differing opinion to you is instantly labelled a WUM and has their opinions written off almost instantly. You all share exactly the same opinions, which are mostly wrong and have very little understanding of what actually makes a talented player, which isn't somebody who runs around alot and chases balls that will inevitably go out for a throw-in/goal kick.

    Rant over.

Call it what you like, but it's like an insestuos family on here with most of the regulars.

If everyone shared the same opinions surely there would never be any disagreements which is apparently what you dont like about the forum?

No, what i don;t like is there is a set group of members who all share the same opinion and whoever is new to the board who has a differing opinion is labelled a WUM.

What's funny is that they were probably right.

I was labelled a WUM because i said that Martin was not good enough. Which Adkins clearly agrees with.

I was with you on that one if you recall. But who cares anyway? It's an internet forum. 341 posts later and you're still hanging on the reaction to your first one. Thicker skin needed.

At the time you joined up, a lot of WUMs were joining up (most, I believe, operated by the same person) - you then come on acting very outspoken about a controversial issue right from the start. Do you not perhaps think it natural people would assume you were in the same vein as people doing similar at the same time?

Agreed. Newbies here tend to get their feet under the table first. Not by cuddling up, or doing cosy things, but just by not starting out appearing to be obnoxious WUMs right from the word go. One tends to find out first what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. How differing opinions are expressed, and how to expect the wrong reaction. In this way, if you do it right, you can be the only one on the forum with your view yet still be respected for your opinion. However, do it wrong and you could have the same opinion as the vast majority and you'll still be considered a plonker. But then again, you answered your own question - you don't like this forum. So don't come here, and then you won't suffer any disappointment. Find a forum which suits your manners. There are plenty about.

Not just newbies here - does a new guy at a work place go in shouting his head off upsetting people? No, they go in trying to make a good first impression and get on with people. It's not too different here - granted an internet forum is different to a workplace but it's still a group of people and first impressions still apply - if you storm into a work place screaming and yelling about controversial issues people will think you're a berk, the same system applies here.

But yep, TSS hit pretty much every issue. If this forum isn't to your taste that's fine, of course it won't be to everyone's. Try SaintsWeb or something, see if it's more to your taste.

Were you ratted when you wrote this? I find it interesting that you dislike this board because everyone agrees with each other. You are kidding. I don't post often because I rarely have views I particularly want to express, but I enjoy the range of debate and simply reading what issues fellow Saints are discussing.

The workplace analogy is a good one. The only thing we have in common is supporting Saints. Additionally there is clearly a senior "in-crowd" who post frequently. Many of them have had a few seasons watching Saints, I reckon. Their language may sometimes be a bit exclusive, but if they appear to agree I think it's probably that they agree! On players there seems to be a common agreement to not write destructive comments as we have seen the effects of sustained attacks on individuals (Fuller and Puncheon spring to mind). However, unlike the in-crowd of poor workplaces, access is not limited and constructive reasoned argument is always responded to fairly in my experience.

TSS is right. It depends what you want. If you like slanging matches this probably isn't the board for you.

If you hate this board and the people on it, then you know where the log-out button is. Just don't come back.

Nice rant. So why don't you enlighten us to what a talented player is, as none of the rest of us will think they are if we all agree with each other...
