Enner Valencia should be made our top target to sign this summer. The lad is flying! Just scored his third goal so far in the World Cup, and sixth international match in a row. His stats are 18 goals in 23 club games since January this year. And he's got 9 goals in 13 international matches. He's by no means a big lad (5 ft 8 1⁄2 in) but he is very strong in the air, much down to his great movement. Technique and pace in abundance. Get him signed Harry!
Looks decent but two big problems. A.) he plays in an unknown league and always has done B. his price will be stupidly inflated now
Me and my dad were saying the same thing last night. A few of those Ecuadorians looked good, especially him. Think he only signed for a new team this year, but targets like him will be an awful lot cheaper than over-hyped rubbish from the English league, I would welcome taking a chance on a player or two who impressed at the WC
Only interested if he was on our list BEFORE the World Cup. Running around chasing players who look good in Brazil or suddenly become 'available' is the way of madness. That's how Arsenal ended up with Arsahivin. Buying players should involve serious research - not just into their skills and fitness, but also their characters, family life, adaptability, language skills etc etc. It should take at least a few weeks , not just 'oh he looked good against Honduras'.
Perhaps we should go by recommendation like Graeme Souness did with Ali Dia! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PyI-OfT7zYM
Take your point but scoring against Honduras gets a bit more cred from me than scoring with her indoors!
Never buy anyone based on one tournament. He could be having an agyemang moment. We probably signed AJ based on the hatrick he scored against us, forgetting they were just about the only goals he scored in two years.
