Right, players like Gerrard, Lampard and Barry will all be close to mid thirties in the 2014 world cup.

This got me thinking who do we need to play?

    I thought long and hard and came up with this team;

    Hart
    Walker Cahill Terry (c) Cole
    Wilshere Milner
    Young Rodwell Walcott
    Rooney

    Post what you think.

Hopefully by the next world cup we have a new English manager (hopefully Harry) and Terry can get the armband back.

I have always liked him as a captain.

No way should JT be in there - he's way past his sell-by date already as witnessed by last night.

    I'd go with

    ----------------Hart----------------
    Kelly----Cahill----Jagielka----Cole
    -----Rodwell---Huddlestone------
    Walcott-----Wilshere------Young
    -------------Rooney----------------

Subs: Foster, Walker, Smalling, Jones, Gibbs, Henderson, Lennon, Albrighton, Bent, Defoe.

No JT. He got found out at the highest level.

The sooner we get rid of Capello the better. What is he doing putting immense pressure on a 19 year old that has no International experience. It gets worse - He then plays and him in an unfamiliar role.....

What a complete muppet that guy is!

Mine would be along these lines...

    ----------------Hart---------------
    Kelly----Cahill----Jagielka----Cole
    -------------Rodwell----------------
    -------Walcott---Johnson--------
    -------------Whiltshire----------------
    --------Rooney-----Caroll-----------

I like the diamond formation, team i've put out is pretty young.

Is that Rio Ferdinand? If so he will be 34/35 by 2014 might be lacking some pace :p I was going to have Gerrard but for the same reason he will be getting on abit too.

Ok you can change Rio. He probaly will be injured anyway. Gerrard never has had pace and you ability on and off the ball will compensate.

Substitute Naughton for Kelly and Defoe for Carroll and it'd get my vote.
