It appears Capello is planning to play Phil Jones and Lampard as his central midfield partnership. Could this be the weakest pairing ever? Hopefully it means Parker will be rested for at least one of the games, as we really need him at the moment. Especially as Sandro seemed to carrying a niggle in the Brazil match. Would people prefer to see Spurs players playing, so that everyone can see how good our players are, or would you prefer to keep them out of harms way? Must admit, I was disappointed for JD, Lennon, Hudd and Dawson when they were dropped, but swings and roundabouts!
Jones and Lampard? Has he been enjoying a little of his home country's produce when watching games, by any chance?
I'd rather Spurs players not Playing until they get some decent Players around them, not the same old flops they called the golden generation.
We'd get destroyed with those two in midfield on their own. I'm assuming Milner will start as he'd be seen as a more defensive winger, despite the fact he can't tackle so all in all keeping the score down to less than 5 would be a minor miracle.
Hopefully Parker plays in neither of the games and Walker gets a 5/10 minute run out just so he gets his 1st international appearance to his name.
Yep, I hope Parker doesn't start against Spain, he could do with a rest. A cameo appearance for Walker would be nice
Jones needs to be playing at centre back - not just for this game, but in general. Keeping Terry out of the side is something that needs to start happening now, and continue until he realises he isn't in charge of the team.
Lampard as captain, a player that needs to be in defence playing in midfield, Lescott starting - does Capello know about a job opening that we don't?
Perhaps lulling Spain into a false sense of security - we should lose 4/5 -0. Then we play our first team in the Euros if we draw them and bam! only lose 3-0
How Lennon isn't in the squad given his current form is incomprehensible. Happy for the likes of Parker and Walker to sit out of a meaningless friendly to be honest. Even if they were to come through physically unharmed, mentally they are more than likely to be a little damaged due to a combination of factors (1. Given the team Capello sounds like he is putting out they ought to be trounced, 2. Having to be subordinate to cretins like John Terry)
He's one of those players who Somebody has decided isn't up to England duty - yet players like Downing and Walcott are...
