    Good lineup.

    Packed with experience.

Starting XI will probably start the first WC game.

Good indication this on how we'll fair next summer.

Didn't realise Germany were in the RL World Cup which is enthralling the nation.

Gareth Southgate hands debuts to three players - Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham and Jordan Pickford, with England playing 3-5-2.

This is the least experienced England side in 37 years.

A total of 101 caps, the lowest since Australia in 1980 when a total of 57 caps took to the field.

Maguire and Livermore play. Good luck lads.

I hope England win, I really do cos I'll support any England team against the Swiss buttering-uppers. However, what a ****ing travesty of a line up we're putting out.

Once upon a time these games mattered. Friendly or otherwise we would have been too proud to put a guess-a-line-up team out against the self-styled Euro master-race.

Our Christmas 1914 lineup was more experienced than this and those lads had other things on their minds.

    Lest we forget.

On the other hand how do we know if the young generation winning World Cups can step up if we don't play them? Of course there is the question if they would have played if so many hadn't dropped out,

Yes it always gives me a lump in my throat.
I will be at Cenotaph on Sunday as usual, no doubt the wind will blow something in my eye again like every year.
Then onto the pub, to get rid of the lump in my throat.
    We will remember them.

Today is the hundredth anniversary of the end of the Battle of Passchendaele.

Over half a million men killed in an attempt to capture the top of a muddy hill.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.

    RIP.

Must be a first. Two still warm ex-City players starting for England less than a year after leaving us. Apart from Harry's "wobble" early on, both Jake and him are looking composed.

Shame that Abrahams got subbed off, thought he was doing well.

The Sunderland goalies doing well, so is Loftus Cheek.
