Seems as if ruddy has booked himself a ticket to euro 2012 according to Twitter tonight, other news is Carroll is going but no crouch, Ferdinand, walker or Richards.

Can't believe there is no Richards. Best Right back defensively we have, Walker is injured as well so Glen Johnson??. That's an odd decision if turns out to be true.

Walker and Richards are both injured I believe. Seems as if it could be true about Zamora going. I actually despise the f**kin FA if that happens for employing that daft t**t...

Richards was on the bench on Sunday.

Not sure why he'd be there if he was injured.

Surely he'll be involved, rather him than Johnson any day.

Can't say I surprised about Zamora, I said to a mate he'll probably go and it got laughed off. "Hate to say I told you so" will be sent tomorrow. I remember Hoghson tried to sign him at Liverpool, Zamora had form of his life under him. I hate the fact he is going because I think Holt is more intelligent and more of a threat in the air but hardly surprised personally.

incredible to think we might actually take 4 out 5 strikers who have been bang out of form to a major tournament while the one who has been in form can't bloody play until the last game, AND leave the one striker who is in outstanding form at home! i suppose thats the english way...

chuffed for ruddy though if included <ok>

If he picks Zamora over Holt I will literally go nuts. There is no logic to taking him, Holt's performances have been far superior.

Roy surely has more sense than this!

If Ruddy wasn't picked I wouldn't give a monkeys about England in the tournament.

Terry (Racism trial over his head, battered by Carroll the other week) in over Ferdinand. I know Ferdinand is injury prone and not playing too much but part of a United defence who conceded second least. I've not seen whether Lescott, Cahill and Jagielka are in or not. But they should be. Jagielka and Lescott kept Spain out, albeit in a friendly, but still international game and successful.

I had a hunch about Zamora and I think it's a silly decision, to leave out Holt is ridiculous. Holt sums up the English game, the passion, determination and the fairy tales we have in our leagues, and the FA should have made example of Holt, advertising that hard work, determination, patience, merit and most importantly NOT BEING MONEY DRIVEN is what reaps rewards. Missed opportunity.

No justice shown at all, I like Hodgson and difficult to criticize before ball been kicked but seems like same old England. Pick the has beens and the one's who are paid the most.

The only excuse used against Holt that may have had any justification, was the question of his age. Even that can't be used now. If it is true, what an awful decision.

I can sort of see the logic with Zamora, but that isn't to say I agree with it. To Roy, he's a known quantity, and he already knows how to get the best out of him. He'll have only been in the job 40 days or so when the tournament starts, so he needs all the short-cuts he can take. I've watched Holt a lot more than I've watched Zamora, and whilst I believe Holt is the better player and in better form, if you haven't watched him as much as we have, they probably appear to be on a par. In that case, Roy will go for the known quantity as it makes his preparations a little easier.

Many of you might be aware of my disliking for Grant Holt, but the guy fully deserves to be in the England squad.Carroll? For ****'s sake no!It needs to be based on form....
I also think that Ruddy should be taken to the euro's aswell, him and Kelvin Davis are the 2nd and 3rd choice keepers for me this season.Scott Carson and Ben Foster never wanna play for England so screw them.People go on about Green, but he is overrated, not as good as Davis.

    My Squad:
    GK's-Hart,Ruddy,Robinson
    DF-Cole,Baines,Lescott,Cahill,Smalling,Jagielka,Richards,Walker.
    MF-Carrick,Lampard,Parker,Young,Walcott,Gerrard,Johnson,Lennon.
    ST-Holt,Rooney,Crouch and Defoe.

*Bold are the first choice players with Crouch playing the first two games of the euros due to Rooney's suspension.

    ----------------Hart--------------------
    ---Walker----Cahill----Lescott-----Cole----
    ---------------Parker-----------------------
    ----------Lampard-----Cahill----------------

    -----Walcott--Crouch/Rooney-------Young------

EVEN QPR FANS SAY ZAMORA SHOULDN'T BE ANYWHERE NEAR THAT PLANE

If Crouch and Holt don't get selected but losers like Zamora and Carroll do get in after such awful performances for the majority of this season, English fans everywhere will be highly unsympathetic to Hodgson after this impending train-wreck of a tournament.

I warned you all about him, lets revisit that:

"I firmly believe that Hodgson will be a failure as England manager, he even stated the other day that he would:

    1) Select 5 or 6 good lads, rather than back-ups for each position (taking dinsosaurs like Ferdinand, or unmitigated-disapointments like Downing, or "squad morale" players may work fine for PL, but not in a knockout competition!!!)

    2) His selection policy is quoted as on quality, not form: we can therefore expect to see Downing, Carroll, Defoe, Crouch, Zamora all involved then, while ignoring Holt, Ruddy, Graham...all of whom have proven themselves this season."

    ---

The reputation-selection has begun, and performances throughout the season are being ignored, because he hasn't got the balls to take a chance.

Unfortunately now Walker is out of the competition, confirmed on BBC Sport.

Warn me all you like, but I like Hodgson. He has a brain, and he has international experience, and he's .... oh yes, English.

Let's talk about his selections when they're actually announced.
