I won't be too disappointed if he isn't picked.

I hope he's in there just further boost his confidence. Yes he's played fantastic all season but imagine how he would feel further down the line with no new England call up. Could have a negative affect on his performances at club level

I'll get Kim Jong Un on the blower. He might have something to say about that.

I'd rather Hudds concentrated on his City career. If he goes to Brazil after a good season, then that'll be class for us and him. Also, it won't disrupt our season like him playing in these upcoming qualifiers might.

He's not getting called up, Woy ain't even been to watch him. Roy's even been to watch Cardiff FFS.

Hodgson might consider it too early for TH - he has only played half a dozen games for us. Still plenty of time to impress before the England squad is chosen for the World Cup - that is providing we don't blow qualification!!

No Huddlestone, I know people will say he's only had half a dozen games, but it's the same with Barkley and he's been given ago. If Huddlestone carries this on he has to be in the squad at some point.

I agree with Barkley being in the squad, we need to introduce the decent young players when we can. Cleverley shouldn't be in there until he starts playing like an England player though.

I'm not sure you can say that Huddlestone really should be there over any of those midfielders.

Perhaps Cleverley and Milner - but they both have experience, which is quite useful for two very important games.

If Thudd keeps on going though - I would imagine/hope he will at least get in a friendly squad before the end of the season.

There was more chance of Harper getting a call up to replace Hart!

Such a poor England squad at the moment if you ask me.

Let them rest up after the villa game, Someone will go back to their club injured! Let's hope they're Everton players! Nothing too serious just a week! :)

    Cleverley though?

Surely Thud is better than him at the minute?

I'd rather have Thud, Livermore, Osman, Lallana, Shelvey etc than Cleverley.

Carrick has been ****e recently, if he picked the squad on form Huddlestone should be in there, same as the likes of Gerrard getting picked on the basis of he was a good player half a decade ago and is now immobile and not suited to a tournament that is going to be played in intense heat. Cleverley and Milner are not good enough for England, especially Milner- I cringe watching him get his one cross in and **** all else all game

From a totally selfish point of view, I dont have any problem with this whatsoever. We have enough injuries, it would be terrible if Thudd picked up an injury, especially on international duty and was out for weeks\months.

I'm not sure where all the hype came from. He's been a bit part player at Spurs pretty much all his career, had a few nasty injuries and hasnt even had half a season playing every week for us yet. I would imagine any call up, if it happens, will come when they have a couple of friendlies.

While I agree about him picking up an injury will totally change the way we play, he is an integral part of the team. There is just as much chance that he'll get injured training with us as he will training with England.

Agreed, but it would be a risk to bring in someone who has spent so much time away from the international set up especially with two massive games coming up.

I agree Huddlestone is in far better form than the majority of the midfielders that have been selected, however for the sake of these two games I'd stick with the regular, experienced players like Gerrard/Carrick/Milner, they may be on their last international legs but they give us a pretty good chance of getting over the line and being involved in Rio.
