Suppose it would have been yes, from his point of view, and from the clubs, it would be nice to see him given some kind of international honour. However from a selfish point of view, am not to happy when our players are going here there and everwhere, in some cases to play meaningless friendlies, we had the Tommy Smith saga, where he jetted to the other side of the world and back, and got back to Ipswich the day before our match, we used to get the same with our Hungarian players. The pace of modern day football has never been quicker, lets not be afraid as a club to look after our own players.

lancs, i think PJ has got this one right. as he said, he felt hyam was going a bit flat so gave him a game off and unfortunately for him people (leadbitter) have taken they're chance. of course we have been asking all season for luke hyam to be given a chance and he has taken it with both hands. for me though, you want a manager who picks on merit and unfortunately for hyam he has has been extremely unlucky with others coming in and playing well. i hope to see him start tomorrow but PJ has handled this situation extremely well and i think the results back that up.

it's silly to fault Jewell at the moment - but Bowyer over Hyam in midweek? Not having that....

The EADT Ipswich star and green un are getting more and more like the daily mail by the day, sensationalist headlines that they just oppertunistically pick from somewhere where they can see a headline that will wind people up!!

Saying that I agree with portmanpauls point. There are players who deserve to be in the team but have looked a little jaded after a long run of games, so Jewell's taken them out and the players who have come have also played well!!
