There were some very rude things said on Five Live before the game about Darren Bent "being short of international quality at the highest level".

On this display, looks like he's in good company, then - what a shambles.

Let's hope for a damned sight better performance second half.

Thanks Ryan - However, I've decided that there's times when you've just got to stand up and look like a complete wassock - and this is one of them.

What an awful performance today - totally clueless - Leighton Baines is excluded from this, he looked very good indeed.

You know instinctively that Capello's got class, he's got an outstanding record of success over several years - so why does he keep making the same mistakes over and over again? A ten year old playing on FIFA 11 could have told him that Young would have been a better bet to start than Milner (actually anybody would have been a better bet).

Hopeless ranting really. I just hope reality kicks in by the time we play again.

England play like that again and where be embarrased by the Dutch in our next game!

Walcott and Milner not good enough and terry and ferdinand look so vulnerable at times, i think shawcross or cahill should be given a chance!

Had to work today so I missed the game, by the sound of all looks like I didn't miss much. Still going to watch it now and probably regret that decision!

Darren bent missed a chance, ok... But Milner and walcott offered nothing for him. Isolated is the only word to describe today.

I've all but given up on England. In fact i actually laughed when both their goals went in...

I shudder to think how much dough I've spent following England over the years!!

Capello is an absolute mug for keep coming up with the same old excuses time and time again. If they're tired I'd love to how they'd cope doing a proper job!!

I was actually in the process of bigging Bent up as he missed! Humiliating! HaHa, what a muppet!

But yeah, shocking all round really. After England's 'display' in the World Cup and Charlton's season, it sometimes makes me wonder why I still even bother with football! (perhaps a slight exaggeration)

This summer had better bring us the turn in luck that we all deserve, especially Charlton.

Makes you sick don't it, paid thousands of pounds just to play football, and train to be as fit as possible and they moan they're tired. Man up!

Who would want to be an England footballer? One bad game from Parker and I'm reading everywhere that he is over rated and rubbish, not good enough for England etc etc. Makes me so mad

I thought he played well. He and Wilshere were tackling like demons and running past opponents although outnumbered 3/2 in the midfield. Their final passes let them down but that could be because they are new to the team. Harder to bed into a team in midfield than other positions.

As for Bent, most strikers in the world (apart from maybe the half-dozen best) need three chances to score one. What other chances was he given? Two or three quarter-chances at best. And he was incorrectly ruled offside when clean through on goal. No, he isn't top international class, but he is probably the best we have to partner Rooney.

I actually enjoyed the match. Far more lively than most end of season offerings. And I didn't think England were that bad. We know we aren't Spain, or even Germany. I don't think we are behind the others once we have our two best players, Rooney and Gerrard, back.
