Well I'm left speechless. Jay Bothroyd gone to Coopeeaaarrrrr.Who would have seen that one coming.Apart from every City fan I've spoken to since the end of last season. I hope she doesn't decide she wants to move. http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2390364,00.html
So...an absolute nightmare next season getting it handed to him every week, followed.by 2 mediocre seasons in the Championship and then the 32 year old will once more be out of contact looking for a big move... Good luck to him, he's going to need it!
Good luck to him is what I say. He's a good player when things are going his way. Doing it at Champ level is one thing but the Prem is a different beast altogether and once the novelty wears off and reality kicks in, I can see this "England Ace" becoming the Joker in the pack pretty soon.
H! I also wish him well, but as you say this "England Ace" status is something he will now be expected to live up to.Can't see Warnock putting up with anything less than 100% from Jay though.
This is move suits his ego as he's going in as the "star player"...Can see a few more Taarabt Tantrums coming up Colin will do well to keep their dummies in check next year.
I Don't think he will get more than 10 goals and some sore shins. And, as they say in Spain, a grassy ass,,,
Lets be fair the guy did well for us, but he was lucky to win an International cap he was never really that good and got lucky, we did well out of Jay. and he did well out of us. I don't think he is of premiership standard TBH, but a good championship performer, good luck to him, he'll need it in the premiership
All the best to him, I hope he performs well! I think there is a marvellous player there which came out at the start of last season when he seems unstoppable and he got his England cap. Thanks for the memories Jay!
Sums it up perfectly. Who gives these guys advice? Geez...what a waste of a career. If he had signed again with us on pretty good money, worked really hard for us, got himself promoted , and finished his time as a true respected footballer, he could retire and look back fondly on his career. This move will just waste more time for him and he will sit back in the years to come and say...DOH!
I liked Jay, i hope he does ok with QPR at least he will get more protection from the refs in the EWPL
Good luck to Jay, I was getting tired of repeating myself every week "get up you lazy p**%" He did score some great goals, which the QPR fans will hope for. All the best on that second England Cap. You'll need it.
I see Jay has put it out there that the reason he left City for the Hoops, was because he doesn't want to be labelled an England one cap wonder. I'm glad to see your decision has nothing to do with trebling your wages Jay.
