Who did we all vote for? Player: Mackie Young player: Tarbs (not spoilt for choice!) Goal: Buz v Swansea Its a big shame there isnt much competition for the player of the year (IMHO) as I cant think of anyone who has been consistently good except Mackie!
It's hilarious that we have to raise the age limit of young player of the year to stop it being a straight fight between two kids who have played about three games between them. Hill Traore Smith v Wigan
Player: Close one, because so many players have stepped up this season, most notably Hill and Derry, but my vote goes to Mackie, as I can see him going from strength to strength, and after last season's leg break he deserves the accolade. Young Player: Traore, simply because Taarabt has only recently been showing his ability the way we wanted to see throughout the season. Goal: There are some crackers there, but I'm going to go for Mackie vs Blackburn. No space to turn and shoot, but he finds himself a fot of space and hammers it into the far corner.
Player: Hill (give the man a new contract, PLEASE!) Honourable mentions to Derry and Mackie. Young player: Taarabt. The man's a genius. It might encourage either Onuoha or Traore (who I really rate) for them to get it but I can't honestly say they're better than Tarbs. He started the season slowly (!) but his all round game has improved immeasurably under Hughes.
Best player Mackie Worst player Cisse I cant believe what a let down he was. Young Player Diakite Best goal Mackies goal against Liverpool. Not just a great goal. But like last year when he scored against Derby, I think every one started believeing we could do this.
