Word on the grapevine is that lumbering target man Emile Heskey will be returning to his roots, turning out for Leicester City next season. This has been going around for a while now, just rumours or no fire without fuel? Personally i believe it could be a good partnership with Emile and the Yak up front, would certainly worry a few defences next season. Mind you i can remember his debut at Leicester so may just be looking through Blue tinted specs lol
I would have Heskey back but not with Yak. Heskey works hard but needs a man to play off him and running onto his headers. Is Yak the man to do that. I dont think so. The striker we have who would suit Heskey best would be Waghorn
Yes you are correct, i would love to see Waghorn be that man but we know how Sven is, he has his favourites and for some reason he never really gave Waghorn a chance, mind you would really like to see Schlupp and Waghorn play together.
Yeh I can't see the Yak and Heskey playing up top together either. I'd actually like to keep the 4-3-3, pick one out and out striker, and buy another out-and-out winger, with Gallagher on the other side. I would love Heskey to come back as a back up option at first, as a better version of Howard, and then we'll see...
Who do people prefer. Yakubu or Heskey. Yak will score about 3 times the amount of goals Heskey will be Heskey is a leicester lad and would work harder for the team.
I'd only have Heskey as a back up option. Hopefully in time he'll be revitalised and play out of his skin like Howard did at the back end of last season. But it would be more sentimental than anything, we need a goalscorer really, someone like the Yak or Maynard, or maybe Kamara as I think he would score goals if he was played down the middle. The Yak will score goals because we will create plenty of chances BUT in terms of the overall balance of the team, it's hard to have a lazy striker in the system we are playing because he will often be isolated. Sadly I feel this is a problem - 2 defenders can mark him because his movement is non-existant and this will restrict us badly in certain games, such as ones we don't dominate (this has been evident in quite a few games). This is one thing Heskey would be useful for - he'd use his strength and hold it up better, put himself about and get to 50/50 balls first. If I was Sven I'd put in a bid for Maynard.
erm ! 11 goals in 20 games is surely enough of a trial. Yak may not be the most hard working player that has ever lived BUT a strikers job is to score goals, Yak isônt the sort of striker that will chase all game heôs a 'right time right place' sort of striker, IF LCFC can meet his demands then we should buy him asp. LCFC are in the championship & the Yak is easily a championship player & I would predict him bagging 20+ & being our top scorer in what will be our promotion season . People still doubt the Yak ??? COME ON SVEN SPEND, SPEND, SPEND (BUT NOT LIKE PETER TAYLOR DID)
I can't see how we will ever replace him. He has been my first name on the team sheet since his arrival. I just hope he doesn'tgo to Hull with NP and score his usual goal per game
