I keep seeing snippets on Twatter etc that we are still in for Elmo.

If we have sealed the deal with Fathi, what would be the thinking of bring them both in? Surely Fathi wont want to come all this way just to sit on the bench? Is Bruce thinking about changing formation and sticking Elmo on the wing with Fathi behind him? Or is it pure speculation and the Elmo deal is dead in the water?

Because Fathi isn't match fit, used to the climate, used to the players, used to the Championship...

Elmo is proven at this level and has probably been our most influential player this season, so we would be mad to not try and get him back. We have to go for Fathi in case the Elmo deal doesn't go through, but even if we get both it will give SB more positive options.

I cant see both of them coming in, for one to sit on the bench the majority of the season.

It's a squad game anyway, if one gets tired or jaded, it'll be good to have a back up. I can see Bruce rotating them, that's if we get Elmo back of course.

Bringing both in makes absolute sense; we know about Elmo and would look to sign him in the summer, but we need options and on a 6-month loan, Fathi, as a linked deal with Gedo, makes us a very prudent club. It is clear that the owners are supporting the manager to cover his options and make the reality of our run in push a very strong one. Let's get the business all signed, done and dusted, then onwards and upwards.

If we do get Elmo I could see Rosenior being on his way today.

It makes good sense for the club and for the fans, but I'd still be pretty pissed to come all this way to sit on the bench on a wet and windy Tuesday night.

If we get both, Evans will be the player sat on the bench, it could even be Meyler but I think not as he is an SB signing THIS window

Yep. Defensive midfielder. He even played as centre back occasionally in the past but hasn't done it for at least 3-4 years.

Also think we are likely to buy Elmo, Fathi is only on a six month loan (so far), or so the rumour mill has it.

I would prefer Elmo anyday of the week. We've seen what he can do and he's adapted. Fathi is a shot in the dark.

You'll get Elmo back on an emergency in a week or two now that Catts is on the mend and we've got Alfie N'daiye, then you'll probably get him on a permanent if the price is right!

Thats the trouble with having an Egyptian owner - you can only sign Egyptian players !!!!!

As the song goes : Think like an Egyptian !

To be honest I'm not getting my hopes up. Might hop off to the KC in a bit to see if anything's happening, have a free unlimited PlusBus ticket around Hull :).

No mate - it starts out 'DONE DEAL'. And I'd guess 'upon' and 'on' mean the same....
