If you bought a cheap property then your losses, if you sold, are liable to be limited.

I mixed with all sorts, English, French, Russians Turkish etc, even Spanish gypsies at my daughter's school unlike the racist French who would not speak to them. I lived in the Tarn and latterly just outside of Toulouse where due to Airbus there was a multitude of nationalities. My support for Brexit does not affect my europhile attitude.

To get a real sense of currency values you need to look longer term. The present rate is near the average since 2008. The Euro has dropped much further than sterling against the USD since 2014, almost 35%. The Euro is predicted to keep dropping in value as problems mount.

I know you have even quoted Goebbels recently ( a possible hint on your political position?)

No, that was a re-quote from Cologne. I'm sure you would not label him a Nazi? You must read the posts more thoroughly.

Wrong again, in my naive younger days I voted Labour, I am now a committed Tory.

you keep getting things wrong. My politics are not on the far right. Anyone who refuses to let life's experiences change their attitudes is a complete fool.

Your attempts to pigeon hole is just downright lazy.

This is my starting point :
(copied and pasted but a story that has stayed with me for over 40 years)

    A
    curious man
once asked to visit heaven and hell. Expecting hell to be
a terrible, frightening place, he was amazed to find people seated around a lovely
banquet table. The table was piled high with every delicious thing one could
    possibly want. The man thought,
Perhaps hell is not so bad after all. Looking closely, however, he noticed that everyone at the table was
    miserable.

They were starving, because, although there was a mountain of food
before them, they had been given three, foot long chopsticks. There was no way to
carry the food to their mouths with such long chopsticks, and so no one could
    eat a bite.

The man was then taken to heaven. To his surprise, he found the exact
same situation as he had seen in hell. People were gathered around a banquet
table piled with food. All the diners held a pair of three foot long chopsticks in
    their hands.

But here in heaven, everyone was happily eating the delicious food,
for the residents of heaven were using their extra-long chopsticks to feed one
    another

Moral of the story:.... help and support each other... we are all in it together.. selfishness breeds division etc etc

Politics and the human condition are irrevocably linked...... politics needs to serve humanity.... not serve self -serving greed.............
