Now, this may not be directly football related, but it's an issue which faces us all. Is it acceptable to like Ed Sheeran given his Suf**lk roots? Same goes for Thomas Gainsborough now I think of it.
I'm sure Thomas Gainsborough was a season ticket holder in the Lower Barclay, where he got the inspiration for his 'green and yellow boy'
Not my cup of tea but your all entitled to your musical tastes, but his been a bit of a festival whore this year, prepare to see his music on BBC shows left right and centre I nearly cried when I heard Metronomy - The Look on some **** show like Countryfile or The One Show a couple of months ago. On the Suffolk thing if you like the music and his not wearing an Ipswich shirt at gigs then that is perfectly acceptable.
Personally I can't stand Ed Sheeran with his ginger locks and poncey acoustic guitar but you can like him if you want.
I saw him about three years ago as the support act to Nizlopi at the Norwich Arts Centre. He was absolutely brilliant live back then and the missus made me get his cd. My brother in law then friended him on his facebook page and would regularly chat to him. I doubt he hears much from him now he has hit the big time though! I have to admit I have no idea what any of the girls see in him - hardly a looker but hey what do I know!!!
To answer your question directly PC I actually think he was born in Ireland. I am certain it wasn't in deepest darkest Suffulck - his family moved there later. For that reason he may not necessarily be a binner. Whatever you think of his music you cannot deny that the guy doesn't have talent at what he does - may not be to everybody's liking but he does what he does well.
Saw Ed Sheeran at Latitude and didn't quite see what all the fuss was about. He was OK, but, as has been mentioned above, I found most of his stuff quite bland. Not a bad singer though.
Indeed he was JWM, Justin something or another. Nearly instantly forgettable after the initial few singles released
If we're going to be pedantic born in Surrey according to Wikipedia, which as we know isn't always right. You lot have someone from the band Busted according to these websites and some fat bastard who plays darts. Warky with his extensive gigging knowledge went to a Busted concert and screamed in the front row like a little girl. http://ave-it.net/famous_ipswich_town_fans.htm http://www.the-football-club.com/famous-football-fans.html
Justin Hawkins was infinitely preferable to that droopy twat Keith Deller who threw darts for a living years ago. All the charisma of a dead earwig Saw a guy in Cromer yesterday with an old ITFC Fisons shirt, from around 1992/3 when the Prem began. I just happened to be wearing the correct colours for the north bank of the river Waveney, so we had a little 'banter' (via an interpreter). I said those red drawstrings round the neck of your aged Fisons shirt - as worn by Chris Kiwomya and spicky Dozzell - could get you in trouble round these parts, so I proceeded to (playfully) tug on them in a mock asphyxiation exercise. Ne fret pas, canary fans, we both saw the funny side soon afterwards - but the tight b**stard never bought me a drink for potentially saving his life in foreign parts! It won't be so playful next time
Cutting edge fashion. I remember years ago seeing some knob of an Ipswich fan who looked like Minty from Eastenders giving it large on Look East, the worst part was name on the back of the shirt was Manuel Thetis.
I don't think you can lecture us on our shirts when I remember that fat **** Flecky wearing that horrible green and yellow speckled home top! It looked like someone had thrown up all over it and it Flecks case he probably had!
At the risk of being a pedant, I don't think Fleck ever wore that shirt. He was a little 'rotund' though, I'll give you that.
