With competition for places not exactly fierce in the full back position's would anyone else have these two?

I would imagine everyone will remember Eboue from his Arsenal days and I for one was puzzled when he got moved to right wing from right back. IMO the lad is a far, far better full back and on form was one of the best in the league, he can get forward on the overlap and creates things as well as being a good defender. Currently at Galatasary and at 28years of age he certainly has a good few season's left in him.

M'Bengue is a Senegalese left back who plays for Toulouse. At 23 the lad certainly is at the start of his career and IMO on what I have seen of him is a good player and would walk into our side. I would imagine there will be competition for him and probably from Newcastle but if we could get him for 4-6m he would be a fantastic addition.

Definately would take them both, would add so much quality and competition for places in the back line

I think Eboue is ****e, personally.

M'Bengue has promise, but I ain't seen him enough to give an answer, I just remember him as the fella who got a 15-game or so ban for nearly maiming a lad, then came back, and got a 3 month ban for doing it again!

Set him after Tiote, be interesting....

Yeah you don't want Eboue he is rubbish. M'Bengue is a name we've been linked with but I always thought he was a DM unless he can play there also.

Toon were linked with M'Bengue Poolie, quite heavily, him and Ahly Cissokho.

yer mate I remember, if it meant us getting one and newcastle getting the other then I wouldn't complain, both good left backs IMO and both would strengthen us

Surprised with your thoughts on Eboue, do you think he is that bad? I always thought he was a canny player myself

Cissokho reckons Man United want him!

Do they bollocks, good player though, would be cracking for a team like us or the Toon, but United? Get real Pepe Le Pew!

    MoNs Mush

what do you think of these 2, both at Valenciennes in Ligue 1

Bong the left back and recent signing Pape Camara, I ask about Camara because before he joined them we were linked

The only Valenciennes players that i've really seen anything of note of are the keeper Penneteau, a really solid shot stopper, and the centre mid, Carlos Sanchez, who sometimes looks awesome, and sometimes looks piss-poor!

I don't think Camara had even played for Valenciennes yet, so never seen him, I know he was at Liege who bring through some cracking players, so that's always a start, good breeding if you like!

ah I c, thanks for the update mate, do you watch much of Bayer Leverkusen? I remember a few years back and there was talk of Renato Augusto being one of the next stars to come out of brazil, maybe not in the bracket of the next ronaldo or next ronaldinho but you get my point. Next thing he had moved to Leverkusen, I have tried to watch them a few times this season but have not seen enough to comment

I like Augusto, like you say, not a typical 'flair' Brazilian player, but nice touch, and very creative, in a more 'European' way.

He's got class touch and his passing is clean and sharp, he's not going to do a Neymar and rip the piss out of players, but he carries the ball well and generally releases it at the right time.

He's a player i'd be very happy to be linked with, he's a big lad as well, so wouldn't shirk the league.

I like Derdiyok as well, the Swiss lad, first seen him at the Euro's as a teenager, thought he looked sharp, still does, good movement and such, just not a massive goalscorer, I reckon he could be developed quickly though.

Shocking the last few times i've seen him like!

thanks for the info mate, we have spoke about a dozen players over the last week or so, if MoN casts his net afar there is certainly some good players across Europe esp. in the french and german leagues if the right players are not available in the prem

Definitely, but MON isn't known to look overseas too much.

Realistically, to get the kind of players we need, he may well have to, forcing the likes of Warnock or Bridge in will fill a spot, but will be little above average.

Left-back wise, i'd go for Marcell Jansen, we've been linked as a left-mid, pre McLean, but the lad is versatile, started at Bayern as a wing back, and is a very solid all round player.

He'd also give a back up option to McLean, and for teams like us who don't have unlimited budgets, that can be a big bonus.

5-6million mark, and would be a very astute signing.

I've seen him a couple of times and I like the lad, as you point out MoN likes to go the english route usually but with the fair play rules coming in and with us looking to keep things tight money wise maybe Newcastle have led the way with how a clubs transfer business should be done by seriously considering players from the other european leagues.

As long as we get good players they can come from Accrington or Argentina I couldn't care. Talking of Argentina and argie's I would love it if MoN can get Angeleri up to speed, the lad must of had something for Mourinho to want him when at Inter, seems as though the bad injury has wrecked him

Think it's fairly obvious the injury has finished him mate, it's a shame, cos I looked forward to at least seeing the lad!
