Dzeko?

Would anyone be up for grabbing Edin Dzeko? I think we can practically have the player if we wanted him. It's clear Mancity want RVP, and I'm sure they'd accept a player swap deal the other way, plus they'd have to offload a striker anyway if they went and purchased him. So who'd be for such a deal? I wouldn't be against it, the guy's a solid goal-scorer, and managed 19 goals last season, not too bad at all. I think the combination of him, Podolski, and Giroud, would all combine together to make a good replacement to RVP's goals and contribution to the team. The guy also seem's to have a good head on his shoulders, doesn't have a big ego, goes about his job properly etc, and that's what Arsenal really need, such players bring togetherness and unity within the team.

 

He is no doubt earning a lot more at Man City, so will he want to take the wage cut?

 

I actually don't think City would want to get rid of him. Obviously, he's not as good as van Persie, but he's tall and strong and that helps when you're struggling in a game (eg QPR). If the swap did happen, then that would leave Balotelli, Tevez, Aguero and van Persie, which on paper sounds brilliant, but it doesn't leave room for a plan B. In terms of target men, he's probably the best around nowadays. If City do get rid of a striker, my money is on Tevez.

 

Instead of getting Giroud, I reckon you should have demanded 30m + Dzeko for Van Persie.

 

I think he would, as he would be getting much more playing time. The guy's in the prime of his career, I don't think he wants to sit on the bench as the 4th choice striker.

No club would pay that much for a 29 year old with 1 season left on his contract.

 

I wouldn't sell RVP to Man City, even if it meant getting Dzeko. Needs to go to another league, so, Madrid for Higuain+Money or Barca for Afellay+Money.

 

Barca are 'skint' when it comes to negotiating with us, they (reportedly) haven't paid us back on the Henry/Hleb deals, and are doing instalments to pay for Fabregas, yet are
somehow able to splash out a reported 60 million on Neymar.
It sickens me, it really does, and I'd rather keep RVP for a year and let him go for a free then sell him to that scummy lot.
I doubt Madrid are excited in him, and tbh, I would not mind at all getting 15-20 million plus berbatov for him from United

 

A plan B player is exactly what we need!

 

We could get Afellay without the need of a player swap, and do the player swap with Madrid for Higuan, both of them combined would be very good attacking additions to our squad.
