Well done Jeff, back on form, and you beat me! =============== OfficialQPR QPR FC DYER: I’ve got something to prove after the couple of years I’ve had, but I feel good. I’m really looking forward to playing my part. #QPR
Short term, performance based. If he's crap or gets crocked, he's out. He's still only 32, so still has the opportunity to give something. And he certainly has the experience we otherwise lack. His presence in the dressing room may well be a useful thing for us, as I'm sure that come 2:45 on the day of the Bolton game, some of the youngsters may well be setting the cubicle doors a-swinging...
Not that we have that many youngsters. We must be one of the oldest teams in the Prem - or the most experienced, depending on how you want to look at it
Don't think it is a risk - 1 year contract - more like a bit of a gamble. If he stays fit he could be brilliant. If he gets crocked again at least we haven't been lumbered for 4 or 5 years. Good luck to him.
Signed Dyer, making noises about Bullard. Why not go for Woodgate while we are at it? At least our physio will get plenty of hands on experience. Dyer was a great player until the injuries started to pile up. I reckon his agent has been punting him around the Prem and Championship desperate for anyone to give him a go. I'd have rather signed him on a pay-per-play deal, that way if he gets crocked again (have you noticed it is usually in training?) we don't have to fork out too much. Happy that "linked with QPR" has started to turn into "signed for QPR", I was getting worried that we'd be facing the first game of the season with the same old team minus Tarbs!
Eamon: difference between a risk and a gamble?!! No matter. Even on the couch can be no worse than Hulse on the pitch (and no wage to pay).
OptaJoe Opta Sports by QPRnot606 17% - Kieron Dyer has started just 17% of the possible Premier League games in the last six seasons. Gamble.
Of course it's a gamble, what's the point in having someone like that in the squad, unless that percentage goes up. Hence the gamble!
thanks, can you take Cole too? neither are prem class, Dyer may have played 17% (surprised it's that high tbh) but on 16% of those occasions he's been trying to get his match fitness back and the other 1% have been the games he got injured in. If this is Warnocks transfer policy be prepared for a short stay in the premiership, old crocked former premiership players.
And that's our dead duck signed up for this year..! I can't help but feel his signing, is something to do with care in the community..!
