not a player that i would pick. not being negative but we need a striker who will score 20 plus goals. this player culley is a part time player so would need to step up fitness wise to become a full time pro. we have taken a lot of gambles already on players in non league. we need a name that will scare the opposition. no someone who will take a while to step up. massive gamble this would be on top of many gambles that we have already taken. big mistake this would be. rather have tried to keep richards than get culley.

You say that CJS, but look at Charlie Austin and Dwight Gayle. Both Premier League players now!

Yep I fully understand that, but my issue is that we have taken a lot of gambles on non league players. If he was a full time conference striker who bangs the goals in all the time then fair enough. But he is a part time player whose fitness will not be up to stratch with the rest of the team so wont be ready to play yet. Also he failed to impress cheltenham on trial. I cant believe its got to the point where we are happy to look at players who fail to step up at Cheltenham. How low have we sunk.

I just think we need 1 striker who will scare the crap out of teams. A fast powerful striker like Akinde but not him as we want someone who can actually score. Someone who will be the signing of the summer for the whole league. We dont have that type of player at all in my opinion. We should be concentrating on getting this player in the door and not taking another gamble on an unknown player. If he signs and proves me wrong then I will be delighted. Im not trying to be negative about him before he even kicks a ball and I will be backing him if he signs. I just think Clarke is making a mistake and should be aiming for better than what we already have, not a 25 year old unfit part timer if you catch my drift <ok>

News on twitter from James Mcnamara is....

    * Culley not the striker DC tabled an offer for last week. That deal is now dead in the water.

    * Heard good things about Culley. Unlucky not to get a deal at Cheltenham by all accounts.

39 goals at any level is impressive and if he's an instinctive goalscorer the good luck to him.
