Hate to create this thread. But have to give it up at some point, however much I like the legend - I hate his antics and sulking. If you see Tevez however bad or misguided he is off the field - he gives more than 100% every time he is on the pitch.. Can the same be said of Drog? More than few occassions this season, last season & Scolari season - he has been very timid, petulant and invisible on the pitch. Perhaps Drog thinks he is not treated on par with Lamps or Terry. Ofcourse he will never be treated like those two - Not because he is not English, but these two players never sulk and contribute more than their fair share to the team... If I were AVB - Drog has played his last match for us. Who do you rather have Drogba or Tevez?
Drogba wants a 2 year extension to his contract at the end of this season, and we wont give him one! Cant blame him for trying, but he is the past and we are looking to the future, which has to be about reducing wages! He has served us well, but he is now acting petulantly. With Torres now having served his time he looks like a regular bench warmer to me, that is unless he makes a habit of what he did on Sunday and he's parked for the rest of the season!
Drogba ****ed up sunday and was in the wrong yet and he knew it, yet the way he reacted to Mikel and Lampard was disgusting ( from what i saw Mikel went to talk to him likely to calm him down and drogba slightly pushed him out the way and had a go at Lampard aswell ).Drogbas been a chelsea legend but just because of what his done in the past doesn't mean he deserves to play now, his been awful all season and looked out of sorts and maybe age is really coming up, and could anyone honestly say he deserves to start ahead of torres or anelka this season? Because i don't think so. Look at Anelka on the other hand, in the past seasons his either played really well or has just looked like he doesn't give a ****, but this season his totally come alive and has put 100% effort into every game and it's really impressed me, if i was going to give anyone a 2year extension it would be anelka
Tevez is a bell end and Drogba's time is up for me. I love what he has helped us achieve but his attitude is that of a child, and one who believes his own hype as well. Thanks Didier, but on your way fella. I have said many times I would rather keep Anelka, not a popular opinion, but his contribution has been superb and he has still got it.
Agree totally SW6, before the season i was against anelka because at times last season as i said he was either not bothered or really good which was so frustrating but AVB has really managed to get 100% effort out of him in every single game and you can see it because his really using his pace this season as well and it's really good to see! I'm stil not keen on his penalties though lol
Have to say Drogba has had plenty of bad spells like this and many fans have got on his back before and he has come back and performed brilliantly time and time again. However with Lukaku, Sturridge and Torres we have to think about the future and maybe Anelka would be the one to keep. He's certainly still got it and can play in more varied positions than Drogba. Either way, a 100% legend and Chelsea great.
As a neutral, I think they are both still great players and each still has a lot to offer, and I'd have either one at Spurs like a shot. If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably take Tevez, simply because his work-rate is phenomenal.
Drogba in his prime was a good player, but I don't think he compares to Tevez. Tevez has that ability to play anywhere and affect the game from anywhere, I don't think Drogba is that versatile. In modern day football it always helps if you have a forward who can swithch positions. As far as attitudes go, ye there both a pain in the arse, but atleast Tevez gives his all on the pitch
