Not the first time Drogs has donated significantly to people in need. That's what makes some players stand outs outside of football.

Drogba probably does more for charity then your whole team combined, he even built a hospital donating 3m of his own cash.. laughable how you think he's a bad guy of the field.

I think putting a halt to a civil war is just about as un-****-like as it gets.

Yes I do. Though Drogba is IMO the worst play actor I have ever seen in football, and that's saying something. The guy used to fake injuries in pretty much every game. As soon as abit of pressure built up on you guys, Drogba would be on the floor, and the physio would be on. I still don't believe you'd of got through that CL semi with Barca without his antics.

Fair play to him though for giving to charity:biggrin:

I have no arguments about his play acting as it pissed me off at times, but **** is far too strong a word for Drogba.

I can't remember a single penalty Drogba 'won' for us. Young is a serial cheat and diver that has 'won' plenty for United.

Difference is Chelsea fans got tired of the play acting and got on Drogba's case and he largely cleaned up his act (Baring against Barca - but them twats deserved it for 2009!!). On the other hand, Fergie actively encouraged cheating in Europe as confirmed by Stam.

I don't like Ashley Young either, and I would be delighted if he left. I don't like cheating full stop. I never said Drogba dived for penalties but he constantly play acted, pretending to be injured to slow up play every time Chelsea where seemingly on the ropes. He had not cleaned up his act at all bar 1 game, he did it throughout his whole final season. I remember him peering through his fingers against Napoli, when lying on the floor <laugh>

As for the Stam stuff, do you have a source for it? I don't recall him saying that

It was in his autobiography. Quick Google search will bring up the quotes.

Drogba did play act but I don't think such things had the level of impact on games he thought they did, and certainly not as much as people diving to win penalties (of which my clubs had a few).

I think you'll find what SAF apparently said was that you shouldn't try to stay on your feet, which is different to diving. Diving is when there is no contact and you go down, where as SAF was only saying to go down if you where fouled as referees won't give a decision unless you go down. You can get booted in the shins, and no action will be taken particularly in the penalty area. But it is still a foul.

As every team in Europe had been coached to go down if contact was made, then we'd be severely handicapping ourselves if our players stayed on there feet when contact was made.

If you want evidence of a player earning a penalty when fouled but going down easily then look at Oscar against PSG. Yes it was a foul, but could he have stayed on his feet? Yes he probably could have. But he would not have got a penalty.

The referees are the problem as they'll only give a penalty if a player goes to ground, when they should be giving them for any foul regardless of wether a player goes to ground or not

The utter hypocrisy of football fans calling other teams players divers when every team has at least one, and they all cheer when their cheating wins a game.

    p.s. good man Drogba.
