Okay - let's see what the opinions are.

You can have 1 dream signing (all common sense out the window, transfer fees etc).

1 realistic signing that you'd be happy to see.

1 signing that you think will happen in January (can be the same).

    For me it's:

Falcao - would go so far to solving all our problems. Awesome player.

Llorente/Soldado - would again solve a lot of our problems and are realistic targets.

Walcott - got a feeling on this one.

Mario Gomez - Awesome player. Fantastic all round striker. But of course he is a target man so maybe wouldn't cross Rodgers mind.

Walcott I could apply to both of the other questions.

I can see us taking a striker on loan in January so that we can do a bigger deal in the summer.

Neymar - Pace, good finisher, good dribbler and young. He'd be one of the best strikers in the world if given the right service.

Isco/Soldado - Either one would just add some quality up front. Soldado would be more appreciated because of his goals obviously.

Tello/Sturridge - I have a feeling we'll renew our interest in Sturridge once we start to get desperate in January, whilst I still think Tello is on the cards if he doesn't get more starts.

Dream transfer - Messi! I can't believe people have not said that one! It's a pretty obvious one I would've thought! 73 goals and 29 assists last season! 50 league goals!

    Nah, only 29 assists. Rubbish.

We already have Downing. Pure class.

On a serious note, every one just wants an out and out striker.

Falcao would be a 'now' sort of signing, seems to be near his peak but a proven goalscorer and a handful for defences.

A few other names would be good but I reckon they'd take time to adapt and with the age of the players, wouldn't provide the long term sort of route, if you understand what I'm trying to say.

I'd go with Neymar, inevitably will join a European club and become one of the best. His only 20 years old, say give it 2 more years til we are expected to reach top four, then we have at the very minimum, 8 more years to push on in the CL with him as our scorer.

Rafa. Best signing we could make.

Also, Donald Trump as owner. He wouldn't have any of this Dempsey piddling about like we're an Alan Sugar flea market.

  9. Dream: Messi (obviously)

Realistic: I find this tough since we don't know about budgets but someone like Adebayor would have been great. Falcao and Neymar are unrealistic IMO <ok>

January: I'm rubbish at these things so I am going to say Walcott in the hope that I am wrong <ok>

If Sturridge doesn't play much more then I'd probably say we'll get him on loan with an option to buy.

I wonder if there's a chance of getting Huntelaar on quite a cheap transfer fee seeing as he'd only have 6 months left on his contract if he doesn't agree a new deal with Schalke before January? I know there's the age issue as he'd be 30 at the start of next season but he's hardly reliant on pace and he pretty much guarantees goals, something our current forward line can't do!

We have such high expectations but we have a budget of 5 million by looks of things.

As a result Sturridge on loan.

    Dream would be Christiano Ronaldo.

I know he's a bastard wrong on - but in terms on qulity he would be amazing.

Someone to run the show like Gerrard used too - not sure Messi would have the same effect.

  15. I know what you're saying but still...C.Ronaldo...???!!!

Messi could make any side great, same goes for Iniesta and marmite boy! Id love us to break the bank and get a Neymar or Falcao but we're a million miles away from it <ok>
