Apparantly hes going to seal his move to West Ham today. For 5m id have liked us to have gone in for him. Like Jonno, he can play on both wings, and hes a local lad, so he probs wouldve been happy to finish his career in the NE. He also spent the end of last season playing Left back for Liverpool. Anybody else think we should make a late move for him??
**** me. Liverpool just wipe their arse on Banknotes. They think they're a club of honor and tradition. If you ask me they're an absolute joke. The club is virtually unrecognisable since Rafa Left. They're so bad for football. That's a 22 million loss on Downing and Carroll. That sort of money could turn the fortunes of a struggling club. IT's shockingly bad business and a terrible example to clubs who look up to Liverpool as an Institution that once was. Their handling of player incidents only adds to the mess they've become. I feel sorry for the fans as they're reduced to blind defence like them up the road. PS, I don't want downing anywhere near our club.
This would depend on the sort of wages that he'd be asking. I would steer clear we have enough on the wings now.
I think he's a very good signing for West Ham, Carroll should have a field day with Jarvis and Downing whipping in the crosses. Nolan will also get double figures off the supply and nod downs from Carroll. Fancy West Ham to push for 7th. As for him coming to us? I think Giach and AJ are better and Karlssen looks good back up
I've said this a few times now. For some reason the lad isn't rated by many on here but I do rate him and for £5m he is a terrific price. Got at least another 3 or 4 good seasons in him too.
He was an unknown before he came and had that successful loan spell for us. I remember us putting a cheeky 1m bid in for him after that, but Boro put him straight in their first team the following season.
We can all discuss taking him or not but unfortunately we dont make the decisions and we are not interested in him one bit, I certainly wont lose any sleep over a 29 year old winger going to West Ham.
