Does anyone else feel slightly anxious that Dougie Freedman has been given permission by Crystal Palace to talk to Bolton Wanderers over the vacant managers role there? Maybe Palace will come knocking for Allen and despite his comments over commitment i admit to being slightly nervy? Thoughts?

If I am honest there has always been a bit of me that says MA is only going to stay until Christmas, I have tried to dismiss those thoughts to the back of my mind. However, our season is going so well, you just know as a Gills fan that something is going to screw it up.

I just think being a good London championship club, it may have the right credentials to entice him?

Allen has given his word to Scally that he would remain with the club for the length of his contract, which has gone to press. We have no reason not to believe him. Even if he was invited to interview I think he is intelligent enough to see that if he did jump ship that would be deterimental to any future employment prospects.

Also I don't think Freedman would get the Bolton job

Well Bolton clearly want him as they have been given permission to talk to him, however i am not sure Freedman will want to go there but although Allen has given his word there are still doubts at the back of my mind based on his past.

Mad dog knows he importance of a promotion on his CV and currently it seems like everything is in place for that this season. He has in the past gone or the short term gain and it has backfired on him spectacularly. I'm hopeful he'll stay. But would understand if he did leave if a hampionship came calling.

SKY are now saying Crystal Palace have refused permission for Bolton to talk to Freedman despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise!

Freedman wouldn't want to go anyway! 4th in the league, Bolton 14th and £100m in debt!

I think we've got to trust Allen on this one. It seems from his early days when he jumped ship lots he has 'grown-up' somewhat just by looking at his interviews and things. He also seems well aware of the reputation he is gaining about leaving clubs so I reckon he wants to hang about; he genuinely seems happy here and talks about the long term fairly often.

Cue him leaving next week then...

yeah i do agree he has learnt from jumping ship, but my worry is money talks. Oh and Palace have now given permission for Freedman to talk to Bolton!

No club will get Martin Allen from us unless they are in the premier league. He has stated that in the past he went for the money and was a little naive. The fact he looked the chairman in the eye and said he wouldn't go says a lot for me!

Would agree with earlier comments MA will want a promotion on his CV as he has not had one yet , would love of Allen could stay for years and get us into a higher league or two

I cannot see Allen going, the man wants Premier league work one day, take us from the bottom division to the Championship and then get us a mid table finish and the big boys might well come knocking.

Freedman to Bolton suprised by that it is one hell of a job he´s taken on!!! Has there been any talk or rumours about your manager or is it more just concern that there is an attractive position opened at Palace and he´s doing well with you? I have not seen anything linking him to Palace as yet. Hope you hold onto him but think your squad is good enough to go up with just about anyone in charge tbh.

One site has Martin Allen at 50/1 for the Palace job! That's Bet Victor! He is 40/1 with Corals and 28/1 with Skybet!

I don't care he will stay put, we just need to keep faith, I am shocked that Dougie has left thought he loved Palace.

At those odds it would be worth a tenner to soften the blow if he leaves.

That would feel like blood money to me as I would be very angry if I won on that, I am the sort of person who don't bet on things I don't want to happen as that is just like betting against your own side if you know where I am coming from.
