Thats interesting Dragon. Our top wage last season was 10k, so it's good to see we aren't going over board with them

40% pay rise is pretty good for a well run club. Of course the players will be looking at the 1000% increase in revenue the club will be taking in though.

    http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/L...-career-says/story-12819979-detail/story.html ..... some select quotes ...

“In terms of offers, I had a great offer from Swansea, it was as good as all the other offers I had. But it wasn’t a financial decision." - how do you parse this.

“Swansea hope to stay in the Premier League, whereas Wolves expect to." - after last season - really - they're lucky to be still there.

“They’ve got a big supporter base and they’re looking to extend the stadium." - so what.

“I’ll be competing against Wayne Hennessey who is Welsh No. 1, so it’s a big challenge for me.” - I would have thought actually playing and keeping a clean sheet against, say, Man Utd or Chelsea would have been the ultimate challenge as opposed to having to fight to make the team.

“I’d like to think I’ve played my part in recent years. I’m grateful for the memories.” - doesn't it just bring a tear to your eye.

Same old sh*t. The hardest decision i have ever had to make. Wolves have more chance of staying in the prem.

Don't be sure DVD they avoided relegation on the last game of the season. When we turn them over in september. this will come back to haunt you.

    No great loss.

Don't get me wrong, DdV is a good keeper, but he really isn't PL class. He can't save penalties, he flaps at corners/set pieces and doesn't command his players. When you have the likes of Rooney, Tevez, Bale running at you, you need a keeper that will ensure he has total control of his back four. He makes some fantastic saves, but that is against lesser players than he will face this year.

All in all, I am glad were not breaking our wage structure to keep him, he's done well for us, and I wish him the best. I do think he's making a big mistake but we'll move on and get a better keeper between the sticks.
