@OfficialFOXES: #lcfc striker Marko Futacs joins Hungarian side Diósgyőri VTK on a season-long loan, subject to international clearance.
@RobTannerMerc: Futacs' loan back to Hungary is the only business at LCFC tonight. A quiet one for City.
Good move for player and club. Think he was over hyped when we signed him, and that's saying something! He'll probably go on to score bucket loads and someone will end up paying a fortune for him to be fair.
So are people happy with our summer business? Only first team player to leave was Ben Marshall. We got Richie Wellens and Jermaine Beckford off the books and managed to loan out Marko Futacs Just the 3 signings with Zoumana Bakoyogo and Dean Hammond signing and Ignasi Miquel signing on loan The main thing was keeping hold of people like Schmeichel, Morgan and Knockaert. We turned down alot of bids for Schmeichel, Morgan, King and Moore. Overall im pretty happy with the business. In an ideal world we would have had 1 or 2 more but the loan window opens next week
Four out, three in. Wages must be a fair bit lower lower. All good really, if not very sensational. I assume we can still sign loanees though. I'm surprised that two out of three of our signings are permanent actually. I would like to have seen Gally, Danns and Konch go though. Possibly loan deals to be done there.
This is true & you may find a couple of loanees will be signed, it´s the route alot of clubs are going now a days. I´m not sure we are good enough to go up with the current squad though & if we did we´d need a 50% over haul (imo) & I can´t see that happening with money as it is right now so......
Agree entirely - and I don't think the loan system will be allowed to continue in its current format for that much longer - it was intended to give cover for injuries and to give younger emerging players experience - it's now got to the ridiculous point that clubs are trying to impose a 'loan fee' e.g Chelsea apparently wanting to charge £1.5 million for Demba Ba ... fookin ridiculous and FFP is a fookin farce too - should have been introduced throughout the country all in one go - all its actually doing is making it far harder for anyone to get up to the prem right now and making it fa more likely that anyone coming down can get straight back up because their 'restrictions' won't be based on their ability to generate their own income but on parachutes from the super rich prem ...
Pity that Futacs didn't work out here - having a guy that is basically a more mobile Steve Howard should have worked out but didn't get a chance.
Loan fees have been around for a while. We apparently paid an unbelievable amount for Yakubu. And fans complain because we don't get more players of his quality! Seven figures for six months... Absolutely agree with your assessment of FFP.
More mobile? Did you you ever see him play? I think planets turn quicker than he does! I wonder who the tallest player in the squad is now? Wood maybe?
