Good he's up there as one of the worst midfielders I've ever seen in 37 season of watching us

He was my captain for Sunderland in the premier league on football manager 20. Fun fact.

Good luck to the lad, nowt against him. Had his chance and it never worked. Best for him to go and play as he is young enough to improve and still have a career.

Seems like a canny lad but simply not good enough for us now or if we want to progress. Good decision by the gaffer.

All the best to him, hope it works out.

Have absolutely nothing against him. He just wasn’t good enough. But he was definitely worth a shot. Without hindsight he was one of our more sensible signings at this level - young and energetic with a lot to prove. But it didn’t work.

Would much rather we tried players like this than people coming for a payday or as a step down.

Im pleased he’s gone but only because it frees up wages for us to sign somebody in a different position.

Totally agree. Would much rather give him a shot than re-sign Danny Graham. All the best to him.

He was given a chance alongside power, didn't work out for them both and we need to move on from them. Of the 2, I'd have kept Dobson, but may be it was easier to move him on?

Although I didn't rate him that highly as a player, if only every other player in the squad put in the hard work he did I think we'd be in a much better position

Tbh, I'm not that fussed on the vast majority of this squad. I like onein and Gooch, Hume, willis and wright. The rest can jog on for me.

Might do him some good if he gets played as an anchoring mid.

Yeah that's his gig, no good in attack but he's got the fight and physicality to make a decent lone DM and let everyone ahead of him have at it.

I'd have liked to see him alongside O'Nien in CM but instead it was Power under miserable Phil Parkinson and the two of them together had zero chemistry. I don't think we ever saw the best of the lad and we never will.
