Halftime against Stoke and I must say, I am quite disgusted with how Stoke has been so far. Everything about them screams "crass". From the trashy disrespectful baseball cap on Pulis's head- to the absolutely awful thuggish behaviour of the Stoke players. This is not an attack at the Stoke fans- but surely they must be ashamed of their club's appearance in this game. I'm all for a physical game- but did Pulis pull a Fergie & Keane and tell his players to go out and try and injure someone? One or two rough tackles in a game is more or less to be expected- every tackle the Stoke players put in though seems to be over-the top... are Stoke trying to rely on refs not punnishing players that assault Liverpool players? Fair play to the ref he's been trying to keep things flowing- but handing out the punnishments when it gets too far. I think it will take a red card before Stoke show a little respect and start playing football instead of mindless thuggery.
Hope Huth gets his marching orders second half. Hopefully after a goal for us though, they'd revert to a 9-0-0 otherwise.
I hope our players dive al over the place, not to cheat...but to avoid contact and potential injury. Lets hear Pulis whine about that.
Bolton in the ugly years were never this bad. I remember in the early part of the century people talking about "away games at Bolton a cold winter's day" as the ultimate in physical football. Bolton were never this bad. I don't think Bolton tried to injure players. I'm convinced Pulis is telling his players to bruise up the opposition.
I'm not disgusted by Stoke, it is only to be expected. However, I am disgusted with the referee for not controlling it! Reputation or not, the rules remain the same
Hate Stoke, always hated them. People will defend them by saying they get the best out of their players, they don't have unlimited resources blah blah. Pulis is a terrible manager - one dimensional, defend, defend, defend and assert physical dominance. Lee Mason is having a **** match - Huth should have been sent off by now. No protection for our players whatsoever. Foul after foul. Teams like Swansea, Blackpool etc show you that you can play PROPER football without bags of money.
Stoke are the ultimate hypocrites of football, thuggish behaviour throughout along with a lot of diving and playacting but as soon as they get some back they go mental at the ref and the refs fall for it every time.
I actually dont have a problem with Stoke, (apart from when they play us of course...) They have a philosophy, and stick to it. I've even tried being Stoke in Football Manager - only sign players over 6ft 4 with a strength attribute of 15 + I understand that people think they play like thugs, but they're just physical. if we, or any team can't deal with the physical aspect of the game, then it is not their issue, it is ours. consistently signing tricky, pacey, technical players who go down when someone farts in their general direction, does not help the cause. Look at Arsenal, they've not won anything for years. Why? Because they have no steel, grit, or determination. Chelsea on the other hand, as much as they may be a bunch of foreign mercenaries and chavski scum, have at least some force. Whether it be John "f***ing black c***" Terry, or Drogba up front, they were physical. and we all saw what happened when they played Barca earlier this year. Sometimes it's not all about technical ability, you need the Shawcrosses and Whiteheads. Apart from Agger and Skrtl, who in the Liverpool squad would you NOT want to meet down a dark alley late at night?
Not an excuse. We didn't play particularly well and we should have created more. I'm just expressing my dislike for teams like Stoke. Wouldn't even call them a team. Just a collection of inbreds

Once again then I won't have to watch the tv to know what Stoke did today. I was hoping you lot would win, another day when football is the loser. Lets guess, roughhouse tactics, every dirty trick in the book, a hatful of yellow cards, Hoofball and play acting ? Have I left anything out ?
Why doesn't that surprise me ? Stamping ! Ok which defender (Shawcross or Huth) stamped on either Suarez or Gerrard (my guesses) and am I right in thinking the ref didn't see it ? At least you can be happy in the knowledge you'll finish higher than Stoke.

Yeah, **** tactics deployed as usual. Not needed really, because when they weren't playing filthy they are a well organised team that can defend.
