7 yellow cards at the Palace game, numerous sending offs, penalties and more yellows in the past month or so. What is going on in the squad at the moment??

We're becoming the LEEDS of the west country - surely this is an issue that DM needs to address pretty damn quick as it could cost us our place in the Championship.

In my mind, giving away this many cards and penalties is a clear sign that the squad isn't good enough to compete so they've resorted to getting physical in the absence of skill!

..and please don't start blaming the refs - decisions go both ways and this flurry of yellow and reds has been going on for a while now...

    COYR, sort your **** out!

I know you said don't blame the ref, but last night the ref was awfull.
He did not what he was doing. Booked Foster for kicking the ball away but Palace were doing it and got away with it until someone flicked the ball out of fosters arms when he was about to take a quick throw in.
Sporoni (how ever you spell it) taking ages on every goal kick.
Nope the crowd was correct when we sang 2-0 to the referee he was terrible!

"and please don't start blaming the refs"

It was quite clearly the Refs fault, if you would have seen it you would know that! Foster got booked for passing a ball down the line to their full back to take a free kick ( even their full back was bemused by the booking!)

I am however left wondering why so many refs that come to Ashton Gate seem to take an instant dislike to us and we cant do a thing right but the opposition cant seem to do a thing wrong? we have had one decent ref at Ashton Gate all season.

    Ref was a total Dick...

Always happens in a struggling side, players start diving in etc. The refs have been crap recently though...

It was not a dirty game last night.
We want our side to be combative surely??
I don't see a problem witrh discipline at the moment.

Have to agree that the ref last night was appalling and that's for both sides. No fouls on Fontaine before the dubious penalty, a dubious award of our free kick that led to our first goal, followed by a blatant palace push in the back that was ignored. Numerous bookings that could have been handled with a strong word. I could go on and on! the petty jumped up pratt of a referee did his best to spoil the game. The surprise for me was that we did not get someone sent off. Thank god for 4-4-2 and Pitman.
    Onwards and upwards!

ive seen the penalty on sky sports today......dear god the ref should be fined, absoloutly terrible but then again on my count its the 3rd time the ref has affected our game for the worse

Middlesbrough game, dosent give a clear penalty for us when there player hand balled it, but gives them a free kick which ends us losing our unbeaten streak

Leeds game 2 sending's off which killed us

Palace penalty that if it wasn't for pitman we would of lost another game

    SORT THE REFS OUT!!!

Got to say that I agree, the ref was shocking last night -how the hell did we end up with 7 bookings, as far as I was aware, looking at the ref funny wasn't a bookable offence but it seemed like it was last night...???!!!! - 3 valid bookings, MAYBE.....

The one that made me laugh was where a dodgy challenge went in, the ref seemed to ignore it and I thought he was just going to issue a warning and then, about 30 seconds later, it almost seemed like he asked the Palace player if he wanted our bloke booked which he then proceeded to do. It wasn't just us though, Big Sam was raving last night and it appears that even farting in the direction of another player is a bookable offence nowadays...

As for our discipline, at least we are now getting stuck in (some of the game), there used to be periods this season when over 10 minutes would go by where we never even gave away a free kick - WAY too nice...

The ref was far from perfect..but as I said in another post on tuesday night we are becoming a club that is collecting a mass of red and yellows and it has been getting steadily worse.....

Q)What affects a player on the pitch...

A)the restaint of a yellow hanging over him

It could cost us NPC survival, and you cant just blame the ref or the players....the whole "team set up" from the manager down is to blame

It should have been 3 pts Tuesday and 4 from the next 2........so look forward to 2 wins ......

DEMI get your act together or you could be heading back to St J again!!!!!

Ok the ref Tuesday wasn't brilliant. Does anyone know a good one - so get on with it - it's never going to change. Pissing in the wind.

He could have give the push on Fonts but they're not always given - you HAVE to play on. Why you lot aren't slagging of Fontaine who pulled Murray's shirt off his back for the penalty is beyond me. Just like the fool Bolassie who got himself booked twice in 5 minutes against Leeds.

Easy to blame Refs - have closer look at the Red shirt who's at fault.

This is a thread I posted in February, which needs reviving given the flush of red cards were attracting at the moment.

Seems like frustration / desperation is setting in

The problem being if plan A does not work plan B comes in.i think it comes down to a lack of confidence in the teams ability to play football.your right we can't keep getting reds and yellows it will cost us big time.

Hmm sure but it's a bit hard to stay up when you're playing with 10 men for half a game week in, week out.
